Default Does this sound right? My on track numbers.....

I decided to run against my bestfriend at the 1/8 mile drag strip in Mooresville NC.... and here are my times....

Remember this is a stock 95 GT 5spd.... with .273 rear end gears.... and it was my very first time from a dead stop racing.... so what do you think? I would appreciate it.

Run 1
Reaction: .121
60 ft: 2.397 (BEST)
ET: 10.129 @??? They did not have it reading right

Run 2
Reaction: .232
60 ft: 2.467
ET: 10.344 @ Still not reading right

Run 3
Reaction: .103
60 ft: 2.668

Run 4

Sound about right for a stock car and inexpierienced driver. Every tenth off your 60' =2-3 tenths off your et. With a 2.0 60' your looking at a 9.6- 9.8 et, which is about right.

10.8 on the 1/8th is roughly 16.7 on the 1/4.
Practice your launch (try walking it out of the hole, like you are taking off from a stop light) and play with your shift points. The car should run mid 15s dead stock on the 1/4, which is about mid 9s in the 1/8th.

yeah my launching really sucked on it, ive only had the car for like 2 months.... but yeah the launch really sucked i don't really know why, ill try that method next time, the 10.8 run was against a 7 second camaro with a 383 stroker so i knew i was going to lose....

the only thing i did different on the last was, i spun really bad off the line.... and i had my windows up (i doubt that made such a big difference)

Having the windows up probably make more of a difference than you think. You get all that air coming into the car and pushing up against the back of the car causing alot of drag.

Every little bit helps! lol
