2001 Mustang GT First Trip to the Track. Do I Need Drive Shaft Straps?

Looking at taking my 01 gt to the 1/4 track for the first time this weekend. Wondering if anyone thinks I should install straps on my shaft before doing this or not. I know this is something for a saftey item drag racing and all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks

are you talking about a driveshaft loop? they are a great idea. they are cheap and easy to install. if the front u joint was to fail it will not only keep it from digging into the track but keep it from coming up in the car with you. plus that would just be one less thing to have to think about
