Ok, I am new to the whole car thing, but I have gotten the bug. I would like to make my mustang a 10 second streetable mustang. This what it has so far.

Mechanical Modifications

Auburn Posi Rear
GT40 Heads
GT40 Upper Intake
GT40 Lower Intake
75mm Throttle Body
B303 Cam
BBK Shorty Headers
Offroad H-Pipe
Flomaster Mufflers (2 Chambered)
1.6 Roller Rocker Arms

Ok guys, help me out. What should be next? I want to get it as fast as possible before I add twin turbos. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Work on the suspension. Drag springs, struts and shocks. Drag struts and shocks are a little dangerous on the street, so use adjustable ones and adjust for the track.

In the rear:
Replace the upper and lower control arms with ones that are adjustable, that have rod ends on them. Use a panhard bar to keep the rear from moving side to side. This one is important, reinforce the upper and lower control arm mounting points at the body.

In the front:
get the lead out, reduce the weight. Use a tubular K-member.
Coil-over struts are good for unsprung weight. Strut tower brace.

All the power in the world will get you no where unless you can hook-it. I would start at the rear. Don't forget you safety equipment, drive shaft hoop, roll bar, etc.

Tony B

I plan on putting Maximum Motorsports Road & Track package on it for the suspension. Do you that would be good enough?

How do you suggest I lose some weight?

Thanks

Jason

Jason,

Maximums stuff is very good. I have their complete road racing suspension.

Their torque arm and panhard bar will get you your traction. Talk to Chuck or Erin on the rear springs you will need. Tell them Tony with the twin turbo LX sent you. Hopefully they will not hang-up on you .

As for losing some wieght. Like I said earlier, coil-over struts in the front, fiberglass hood. tubular K-member and A-arms. You could also remove all the sound deadening material from under the carpet and behind the side panels. This is going to make the car very noisy on the inside, but if your looking for "streetable 10's" your going to have to give up something.

Tony,

The street and track kit comes with the following:

MM Strut Tower Brace**
MM 4-Point K-Member Brace
MM Full Length Subrame Connectors
MM Panhard Bar with Aluminum Rod
MM Heavy-duty Rear Lower Control Arms
H&R Race Springs
Bilstein front struts
Bilstein rear shocks
MM Caster/Camber Plates**
MM Urethane Pinion Snubber
Front spring isolators
Rear spring isolators
Flaming River Solid Steering Shaft
MM Aluminum rack bushings, center drilled
Front Swaybar bushings
Front Swaybar end link bushing kit
Front control arm bushings

This should be a good start no? Also, how hard would it be to install of this myself?
