How much does the back seat weigh? How do I take it out? Are there any benefits of taking the back seat out? Do you think i'll be able to feel the weight difference?
I wouldn't bother taking the seats out. I did this summer when I went to some legal drag races, and it's really just a pain for the amount of time it takes. Once you get the seats out you realize how extremely light weight they are. And besides, once you take them out, the back of your car looks darn ugly! Sure, it's worth it if you want to shave not even ten pounds. But otherwise, I'd keep them in for carrying passengers. But if you do choose to take them out, it's really easy. You have to take the seat backs out first. It's kind of hard to explain, but really self-explanatory if you just look at how they're put together. Anyone with a screw driver, and wrench can get them out.

If you drag race try to take weight off of the front not the back
For example (battery in the trunk,air pump removal,A/C stuff,aluminum rad,front bumper reinforcement,Fiberglass hood,fenders,etc)
Moving the battery to the trunk is not only good for drag racing but also roadracing. When I moved the battery to the trunk of my 89, I noticed an improvement in handling. Of course, anytime you can move weight from the front to the rear, your ability to hook up also improves.
If you move the battery to the back, NHRA rules say you must have a battery kill switch at the rear of the car. I believe SCCA wants it on the cowl. It has to kill all electrical supply to the vehicle including alternator
Just one of those things that will haunt you later if you don't put it in the planning for battery relocation.
I have a 83GT. 302/c-4/9". it weighs 2810lb's, this is a drag only car but some stuff applies. remove front swaybar(NOT REAR!!),undercoating,p/
steering,frontbumper(tie front together for the street with alum bar). Go to roll up windows,anything not required! Remember you can't take off 500lb's, but you can take off 1 pound 500 times!
100lb's=10hp
100lb's=1/10th
oh yeah, mine ran 12.58@104 with 625 afb,edelbrock,.472/.496 ford cam,ported d8 heads,roller 1.6rockers,2500 stall,4.86's,29.5/9's m/t's.
Definately remove from the front. I used to work up weight and balance configurations for helicopters in the Army. Whenever you remove weight or move items you change the center of gravity (or point where the car would rest on a fulcrum if you were trying to balance it). Remove an item from the front, the center moves toward the rear(preferred), remove an item from the rear the center moves to the front.

Yes I would agree. Remove the weight from the front. I removed my sway bar last year and I couldn't beleive how heavy it really was.
I am planning to remove my A/C system this year( leaks anyways) to see what potential gains I can get at the track
i removed almost everything from the car. the only thing i have in the interior is the dash and you wouldnt believe on how light the car is. its becoming a drag car
