You'll need a lot of stuff to make a drift car. Good suspension setup, good tires&brakes, Good Horsepower&Torque, Good E-Brake, really Quick Steering box, I would personally love to see a FoxBody drift perfessionally.

you are guna want an lot of torque and a lot of power with a motor that can handle really high rpm's, ur also guna need a good transmisson, shift kit, tires, suspension, and breaks... and a damn good clutch. but the good thing about muscle cars (especially mustangs) is that its easy to get the wheels to spin, i test drove a stock 2001 cobra and i accidently down shifted to much on the free way (first time driving a sports clutch) and the tires started roasting, so if u do that and then turn the wheel and then floor it you'll get a good drift but also make sure to get a good cooling system because you dont want to overheat. and as weird as it may sound the more grip your car has the better for drifting and once you get good if u want to b able to push your car harder tune it for understeer (as crazy as that sounds) if u want to learn more about this stuff i kind of obsses about muscle cars(especially mustang obviously lol) and racing so just message me or add me as a friend or something

in all honesty you do NOT need alot of power, i used to drift an 88 corolla gts with about 80hp
what you really need to focus on is the suspension and brakes those are key items, the lower and stiffer the suspension the better cause of less body roll. get a drift e-brake kit basically lets you lock the button in for the ebrake so when u pull then let go of the handle it just releases right away.
gut the interior as much as possible and do your best to balance the wight of the car as equally as possible.
a good clutch is nice and having a posi is definately way easier than without it.
all i had in my corolla was a welded rear diff , tokico coilovers super stiff, and a gutted rear end and the thing would slide all day long.

so after you do suspension brakes and soem other minor stuff you should easily be able to start drifting, its better to start small and then build your car around the way you drift better than build a car then try to learn to drift the way its setup.

if you have any questions feel free to give me a shout.
