Default Need info on Mustangs in the Ohio snow

Hi, I'm new here and I currently own a 94 T-bird that I am going to replace (with tears in my eyes) for a Mustang GT. My biggest concern is how they do in the winter. I do well in my bird (4.6L V-8, rear wheel drive) and I hope that the mustang is at least similar. I can move in the snow with the bird if I take my time (No traction assist).

Does anyone drive their stangs as a daily driver? How good/bad is it in the snow? (I want the 5 speed).

Any help will be great as this is my 1st choice for a replacement for my tbird. (fusion is in second place at the moment).

Jen

Well, my mustang is terrible in the snow (but our snow tends to have a lot of ice in it too). It can be a lot of fun, but dangerous at the same time. Take your time when driving, but if you can help it, don't drive. Hitch a ride with a friend who has 4 wheel drive or something. But, both are rear wheel drive, so it shouldn't be much worse.

Yeah, that's kinda my thinking. I have about 1-2 years before I have to have a new car so I think I will try to test drive one on a snow day not too snowy though, I don't want to buy it with a dent .

So do most people just garage them in winter? I was kind of hoping that the traction assist would work at improving the snow issue. My t-bird is a snot in the snow but I can move as long as it's not above 8" of snow, (then I'm stuck in the driveway, cursing like a sailor).

I have my heart set on a mustang but I don't want to be stupid about it as I don't make a lot of money.

Well, the traction control should help, and in most situations you can go, but you can't, or shouldn't, go fast. You have to watch them in bad weather. If you don't have to go someplace, don't.
