Default Michigan: Good places to have work done?

I live in Saline Michigan, near Ann Arbor.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to have work done on a '66 Mustang? No way do I want just roll up to the local paint shop, or firestone to have work done... referrals much appreciated.

1. Engine work minor to rebuild.

2. Painting.

engine work? i worked at firestone in arborland, and they cut no corners.

although, your car is too old i believe. but if your daily driver breaks....you know where to go! they are expensive, though.

I used to have a Jeep and they did a little work for me, Firestone at Briarwood. No complaints.

But I dont want to turn over the keys to my 66 to just anyone. I would prfer someone who is very familiar with the older cars and get a referral.

If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, I could always give you a hand with the engine work.

Thanks for the heads up... the reason I asked in the first place is I have slight trans leak... I think its the gasket around the pan... Ill look him up this spring when I get the car back out.

Thanks.

A good source of info for you would be the Great Lakes Mustang Club(formally the Saline Stang Club). Another good source would be my website. Michigan's Mustang Headquarters You will find a ton of info for Mustang owners from Michigan.
