Hi,

I am lucky enough to be living in Las Vegas on a tour with the RAF and have just bought a 2005 Roush GT (hopefully Pics are attached). I will be moving back home soon to the Lincoln area and want to bring my new baby back with me. Has anyone imported a car before, and if so I would really appriciate any advice.

Also, how much are they selling for back home?

Thanks BlackAlex. What car do you have? Any pics? What part of Belgium are you from, I've had a few trips over to Belgium with the family to CenterParcs and love the country and the beer. Will be bringing the Stang over for a cruise when we get back from Vegas.

Hi Srolfy, Well for one you'll have to get the headlights re-aligned plus the license plates wont fit the area on the rear of the 'Stang. Though I do believe they are now allowing the truck ones to be fitted. They mostly have square ones so you should be okay on that score.

You didn't hit it big on the jackpot enough to buy this car did you? If you did, congratulations!

Hi

I'm currently serving in Saudi and am looking into bringing a Mustang back to the UK with me next May.

I've looked at various websites for info on Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) requirements with little luck other than that found through the DVLA site.

Worth also looking at the Customs link - you'll need to hold on to the car for 12 months from the time of landing in UK and there is something about having to move directly to an booked SVA centre (not sure if you are allowed to trailer to a garage and then drive to the SVA appointment).

I have also searched ebay uk for car values - suggest you have a look to get an idea of values.

As for lights I found Europa Specialist Auto Car Spares 1 on ebay - they have front lights and rear euro lightclusters for '05 Mustangs. Not sure if the rear clusters are plug and play or will need some rewiring (haven't got that far with my investigations). Might be worth exporting the lights to the US (ex VAT) and have the work done in USD rather than UK£
