My knowledge is several decades old, so it may well be that Spain has eased up on this, but...
Used to be, the Spanish authorities figured you were a rich idiot if you were trying to import an antique car from the States into Spain.
The red tape and fees were enormous.
Check with your government (I'd hit their websites first of all, if they have anything there) BEFORE you buy anything over here.
Used to be, the fees, import duty and taxes were high. Depending on the car, the shipping costs and fees cost more than the car.
Trade barriers. Why we can't just buy and sell without government sticking their noses into people's business amazes me.
Best of Luck! Please post any data you find, if only to answer future questions of this kind. I for one treasure my road trip in a 1968 Mustang that we took in Spain in 1972.

I would love to buy an old Mustang ('66-'68) in the US and import it into Spain.
As far as I know, these cars haven't originally existed in Spain... Does anybody have any experience with this? Is it possible to import oldtimers into Spain, and if so, how easy/difficult is this?
What sort of costs are involved in getting it out of the US, and into Spain?
What Spanish government authorities are involved in this process?
Hope anybody can help or point me in the right direction.......
