Exclamation Rear number plate mounting

Hi guys!

How do you solve problem with rear license plate holder on new stangs? It's not so wide to fit a european style plate, is it?

Depends on the year/model of the Mustang I suppose... The term 'new stangs' could mean anything from the New Edge stangs (which I have) to the S197.

Mine fits dutch licenseplates just fine. That means it accomodates the 52 cm x 11 cm size (with an licenseplate holder taking up a little more space at the sides).

The S197 isn't gonna fit that: http://www.fordteamutrecht.nl/foto/a...l_HPIM1213.JPG

For that you'd need the small-sized licenseplates, which are basically the same size as the ones used in the US. They're legal here, IF you have a notice that you're allowed to have 'm on the car listed on the registration papers. It kind of depends what the possibilities are in the country you're driving if you can fit the licenseplate to the car, or if you need some device to make the car fit the licenseplate.

I mean S197 of course.

Here in russia we don't have small-sized plates, that’s a big trouble for those who wanna drive an american car...

I'd definitly inform at the Russian DMV to see what they can accomodate you with.

Going by Wikipedia and World License Plates:
Quote:
20.5 by 4.5 inches (520 mm by either 110 or 120 mm) - Used in the bulk of the European countries and many of their former overseas territories.
vs.

Quote:
12 by 6 inches (300 mm by 150 mm) - Used in the majority of the Americas.
I kinda hoped that Germany would face a similar problem, but they have different sized plates too, so no luck in a real solution there either.

Can't really find anything on this Other then that I can only suggest getting spacers and long screws, and attaching the plate on the appropriate place like that...
