I started with a mess of holes and horrible rust in the wheel strut towers. I cut out the bad stuff and welded up the holes. I finished off the small holes with fiberglass filled filler (USC Duraglas).

I took the area down to metal in most places and applied the Rust-Oleum Self Etching primer. Then came in with the Dupli-color primer filler and sanded and sanded till looks good with no scratches (wet sanded to 320g). I am now ready to apply the Dupli-color sealer and paint over top with Sonic Blue Pearl from PaintStratch.com finished off with Dupli-Color Lacquer clear coat--all spray cans.

OK so finally the point: Will this system actually work or should I bag the whole thing, sand it back down, and go after the PPG stuff with a compressor and that whole program?

I want a decent looking compartment, spent a lot of time filling the holes and routing wires and such. Have a total bad a## engine just about ready to drop in it--check out picts on my profile.

Advice appreciated, trying to do this on budget and by myself, did all the other stuff on my own. Eventually I will get the car out to be professionally painted Sonic Blue. I plan on doing all the prep work, trim, door sills, etc myself.

thanks,
