For example my roller that I have for sale has weld drag lites with nice tires, full Qa1 suspension, 3" cowl, a fuel cell and several gauges in a nice pod. Question is do you guys think it would work with no problem I think it should . I'll try it but I still would like you guys input.

I'm new to the mustang gt scene and am not that much of a motor head but can definately get my hands dirty and figure it out. First off, I am basing it off of the 1987-1993 foxbody body style, and It is going to be a street legal road race/drift car. Ill be able to have...Alright, Im creating a budget so I know how much many Im going to have to put away to support this project, than I am going to see about finding a car. First off, I am basing it off of the 1987-1993 foxbody body style, and It is going to be a street legal road race/drift car. Ill be able to have fun with it on the streets, and also have it legal for racing. So that menas 10 point cage and 4 point harnesses. Im going to base the engine still off of the 302 block, but Im going with a DART block, making either a 331-347 stroker. After that gets boring, im going twin turbonetics 67mm T3 turbos. I have found a kit that comes with these, plus it refrains the a/c and power steering (which for now, is a MUST).
The kit can be found 87-93 Mustang Twin Turbo Kit - TREADSTONE PERFORMANCEhere, and by them time I get the BOV's, all the other stuff, it will be in 6 grand range. Im also ditching whatever transmission I get for a 6 speed. Im going for black interior, with gunmetal gray paint with black stripes, and lightweight wheels (not the mormal ones you find on mustangs anymore). My goal is 650-700 streetable horsepower, while keeping the boost below 18 psi (ive seen done before, someone has made 680 at 14 psi, twin turbo (7 each), with the T3 67mm, with a 331) and I know that it is not going to come cheap. I am looking at 30k+ for the overall build cost, so it will be a very longterm project. I have a plan of action set up, I just have a couple questions.
What gearing should I go with, Im thinking 3.55, would it be enough? or would it be too much?
Brakes, my BIGGEST concern, I have heard that drilled and slotted rotors crack sometimes, and are mainly just for show (unless you want to spend massive amounts of money). Could I get away with the cobra brake swap? or should I upgrade the calipers (not sure how the rotors would hold up though)
Please dont critiscize, this is going to be an all out build, and if I spread it out, and plan a course of action, it is very acheivable, just by the time im 35 lol

Fri, 20 Nov 2009 01:25:30 GMTSo, do you think it would be worth the money (after selling off the GT40X heads) and my time to replace my GT40X heads with a pair of Trick Flow Twisted Wedge or AFR 165s?
I installed these GT40x heads back in Jan 09 and I've just never been convinced that they are the answer. I've been trying to gather data (mostly magazine tests - however accurate that may be) to support one way or the other whether it would be worth it to switch them (given my combination) for another set of heads.
Seems like a bit of a gamble since different motors will respond differently to different parts, but I'm curious what you might think.

Thu, 19 Nov 2009 16:29:02 GMTI have a 65mm TB off of a '97 Mountaineer/Explorer. I've seen the write-up by TMoss on how to modify it to fit the FOX bodies, but I think the FOX TB is still a little different than the SN95.
Does anyone here have a '94-'95 using an Explorer TB?
Or does anyone know how to make these work on the '94-'95s???

I already started using degreaser on them to remove the main stuff and then sand paper. How can I clean the inside of the valve covers and with what? And, should I paint the inside also or leave them bare? I already got some degreaser down in the oil port so I thought I should clean the inside too. Anyone have any experience with this?
Also, does anyone know how to remove the oil port's neck? I'd like to screw the oil cap directly on to the valve covers if possible.

Thu, 19 Nov 2009 05:34:34 GMTi have an 8.8 rear end to bolt on to my 85 now 5.0. my question is, i will be going from 2.73's to 3.07's (i think thats what the ratio is..but regardless....) so how much will my speedo be off, and is it even worth it to put in a new tranny gear? or will the difference be little enough that it wont really matter...

This will be a street motor the parts I already have is the 5.0 block a trick slow street heat intake a set of eldebrock performer heads with 2.02 valves and studs and guideplates a msd distributor,a bbk 70mm...I am trying to decide on the engine I am going to build to go in my 93 mustang lx 5.0. This will be a street motor the parts I already have is the 5.0 block a trick slow street heat intake a set of eldebrock performer heads with 2.02 valves and studs and guideplates a msd distributor,a bbk 70mm throttle body,c&l 76mm throttle body and 24# injectors , holley aftermarket shorty headers and a svo extender. I am going to install full roller rockers on this motor I am having trouble deciding on the cam I was looking at a comp cams extreme energy xe 266hr would this be a good cam or would they be a better cam out there. How much power do you think this combination would make?The car has a aod transmission and already has 3.73 gears. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
