Could this be due to ring gear swaps done by previous owners, or are the speedometers just messed up? It seems to be constant throughout the entire speed range. Could someone also explain the gears to me, such as big gears equal more speed or however that works, and also the benefits of switching gears? :worship

Hey guys! Was wondering if I can get some advice. I have a 1993 Mustang LX 2.3L that I bought as a daily driver for $800. I have it up for sale in a few places, but I'm not sure if I should keep it. I want a faster car, and I drive a Honda now (2008 Honda Fit). Sorry! :nono::nono: However, I was thinking about selling the Mustang to get another car that's faster than the 2.3 (Acura Integra, Mazda MX-6 turbo etc) but I kinda wanna keep it and do a FULL resto on it (convert to black interior, fresh paint job, Cobra R wheels and 5.0 swap). I want you guys to convince me to keep it! Or at least tell me if my asking price is too high or too low. NOTE: I'm not trying to sell it on here, because I couldn't find anywhere for that.

I have to admit I don't know much about Mustangs being a Honda guy, but I've been reading. I would totally love it if I could do the above resto, but not sure what would be cheaper in terms of speed. Doing the 5.0 swap in this or saving up for another car altogether (An 1996 Integra GSR putting down 185 HP will run me about $3800, so I need almost $2000 on top of selling the Mustang).

Quote:

Here's the Mustang I have on the market for sale. Only 104K miles. Asking $2000. Clean title in hand. It is an Illinois title.

Plan on painting the side mirrors flat black. Wiper arm needs to be painted as well. Seats have black seat covers on them. The driver seat is stained because it came from the junk yard, but the other one was tore up and the bracket was broke, so it was gangsta leaned all the way back. Had to drive it home like that.
Features:
4 cylinder, 2.3L engine
Sunroof
Automatic transmission with over drive
Cruise
A/C
Alloy wheels
After market cassette deck
Six speakers (factory)

The good:
All the lights and signals work. Engine runs strong. Does not burn oil or smoke. No rips in seats and no cracks in interior. All the glass is straight, and there's no major rust. Just a spot on the hood from hail chipping the paint real bad. Car has never been wrecked, and low original miles. I have extra coil packs and belt pulley that will be included. Two tires for it as well. The ones on it don't need to be replaced quit yet. The rear are good and the front have a little life left. The motor is no where near needing to be replaced or overhauled. Body is in great shape, just needs a painting. Car does not over heat. Things I've done: Replaced driver seat, replaced sun visors, new floor mats, replaced hatch supports, replaced serpentine belt, replaced air filter, fuel injector cleaner added to the first tank of gas I put in, replaced wipers and passenger wiper arm, and cleaned the heck outta it. Sat in a car port for like 2 years.
The bad stuff: Exterior has no major stuff, but is showing it's age. The paint is starting to fade on the bumpers and behind rear quarter class. Clear coat is peeling on the roof. The front bumper has paint missing from it (like from years of highway driving) and the spoiler has a slight crack (not noticable till up on it). One of the tail lights doesn't match the other. It was cracked and that's all I could find at the salvage yard. The dome light does not work, as the fuse was removed. Cruise does not work either, probably a vacuum problem. The armrest is missing it's fabric, but I plan on reupholstering it myself using fabric from the original driver seat so it matches. There's a hole somewhere in the exhaust, so it's not as quiet it as it could be.

Worst thing about it is that the door handles need to be replaced. Driver door just doesn't unlock.

Hail damage on hood and small rust spot. Plan on sanding and putting some primer over.
