Just browsing for a used car and this one says its a 99 cobra. I figured you wouldn't find a cobra for less than 10,000 bucks. Looks like its in good shape to boot. Could this just be a re-badged V6 or something like that? I don't know much about the last generation mustangs, but I was just wondering if you guys could tell anything from the pictures.

It looks to me like the engine is the V8, but I can't see if V8, 32 Valve is written on the valve covers.

This is probably posted in the wrong area but just hoping I can get a quick answer.

I currently have a C&L RAI, Steeda u/d pulleys, Magnaflow o/r x-pipe, and Magnapacks.

For the driveline i have RAM clutch/flywheel, quadrant/adjustor, FRPP alum driveshaft. Ford 4.10's

Suspension i have planned out, but right now have FL subframes and s strut tower brace. (springs, shocks/struts, LCA/UCA, and the other stuff will come this summer)


What i want to know is should i just get a few more bolt-ons, a tune and call it a day? Should i get the heads and intake reworked/ported? First here is the car 03 Cobra. I think that it is a pretty good deal. Here's the story- So I get there and they tell me that the car is locked up in there warehouse down the block because they were going to sell the car wholesale( I didn't call and make an appointment). I asked why and they said that they had it on the lot for three weeks and no one showed interest. Also the other reason they were going to sell it wholesale is because the car needs brakes. The whole deal (pads,rotors) he said was going to cost them $1000 (A bit much in my opinion-I'd say no more than $600). But it needs the brakes done to pass inspection which they would have to do if I bought the car. So if they were going to sell it wholesale wouldn't they be taking less money for the car? What would be a reasonable offer for me to give them? I told him that Kelly blue book and Nada guide put the cars value at around 19.8K. He talked Kbb and NADA down saying there not in the business of selling cars so the values are not something to go by. Still I think 19.8 (KBB)and 20.4(nada) are pretty much on the mark for a stock car with 32k miles. There going to get the car out and ready for me to see for Thursday so I can take it for a test drive. Cars has one owner.

I was reading this article over again and I couldn't believe that the Cobra lost to the 04 GTO!

The Cobra out performs it in everything yet still loses.

Heres the part that gets me... In the article the editor says "But when it comes to luggage gear, the mustang clearly has an advantage with nearly 2 cu ft extra space over the GTOs". Now if you look at the Subjective Ratings both the Cobra and the GTO received a 10 for trunk space.

Though, the Mustang gets docked points for stopping 3 ft after the GTO. In the article he says "and took just 3 ft more then the GTOs 218 ft from 80 mph".

I think its funny that the GTO doesn't get docked points when the editor makes a big issue out of something yet the Cobra does when the editor points out that it was very close.

I need to replace the driver’s door pull and upper center console. I assume the interior is still all stock because the original owner left everything else completely stock.

My questions are:
1. What is the color combo for the 01 cobra black interior? Mine is black for the most part, but the door pulls, gauge cluster and center stack are silver/gray.
2. Are they painted to match parts for the Cobra or is there an EOM part/color I can order?

I have talked to the Ford dealer and they seem pretty clueless on the colors and want me to order parts without knowing for sure what color they are. There aren’t any 01’s around me to look at so I need some help.
