Exclamation sounding like a scam

I am selling some mufflers in the classified section and I have been in contact with a Beck Adesina. After he told me that he was going to have his client send me a check and I would send him back the difference of my mufflers I got a little uncomfortable, and e-mailed him that I would not continue the transaction that the check needed to be for the amount and no more. I heard no reply back thinking the issue was done with until today he e-mailed me that he has sent (I spoke with ups about it) a large check and telling me to wire transfer the extra money in two different transactions. I have told ups that I will not except the package and have contacted the local authorities. Just a little heads up.

YES....

don't wire him anything... makes no sense why he would send you more than your asking just to have you send back the difference

It's a scam!!!! If you send a personal check it has your acount #, singnicure, on it along with your name and address. Thats to much info for a scum bag looking up to no good! Plus not saying that your a bad guy. But why would you trust a guy over the internet you never meet to pay you the differance?

Do not do that wire transfer, like the others said it's a scam. That check will be bogus and essentially, the amount you would send him to cover the "overage" would be what he'd get out of you. Then if you'd cash it, it'll bounce and you're out that amount too. A lot of other scams just like that are coming out of Africa, wanting you to send back the amount that's over. If you really wanted to, you could see if UPS could backtrack where the envelope comes from and go from there although I doubt anything would come of it. Refuse the envelope OR just take it and toss it out after removing your name from it. It's about as valuable as an used piece of toilet paper.

Phishing is nothing new to the internet... as said above - it's wise never to respond to suspicious ads...

Unfortunately - any place where the public can read ads, etc - you can and will have scammers...

If in doubt, pass over the sale. Go with your gut - always...

I had someone do this to me when I was selling my tires, jackoff e-mailed me with the name Linda, she asked if the tires would fit her truck, I told her the need to be 17" rim, lifted at least blah blah, and so on. She said "oh thanks you so much, now I know they will work" then went on to a bunch of other B.S. Then she finally sent me the e-mail that she wanted to do the same thing your guy wanted to do, and I said yeah sure, but make sure you wire it to my IGF(FBI backwards, haha) account, and a bunch of other stuff. Scared her (or him??) off for good.

Yeah don't do it though, large scamma jamma.
