Trying to find best solution on where to install the remote wire for an amp on 2017 Mustang GT? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Would prefer it to be on passenger side or trunk.
Not clear on what you are asking for. Are you asking for a location to splice the remote wire; or the route to run the wire from the front of the car to the rear. Usually the remote wire attaches to the harness at the rear of your stereo; and runs to the remote terminal on the amplifier.
If you don't have access to a wiring diagram, try using your search engine to get suggestions on where to locate this wire on your harness.
Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.
I'm looking for a wire to splice to for the remote wire on passenger side kick panel, or trunk. I'm using factory head unit and was not planning on connecting there.
Some folks connect to the power antenna lead in their trunk, if their car has a power antenna. Not sure that your car has one. Can't think of any other sources in the trunk. I would be very careful with connecting to wires under the passenger side kick panel. Might cause some electrical issues.
Basically you want to connect to a source that turns on when you turn the ignition key on and off when you turn off the ignition key. You can accomplish this by splicing into the accessory wire that runs from your ignition switch. This will be on the driver's side, but us a good source of switched power. You will need a wiring diagram to find the correct wire
Ok got the remote wire in the passenger fuse panel figured out. Heads up guys that are wanting to install an amp in 2017 mustang gt premium, and wanting to keep factory head unit. I have completed this task with zero knowledge about this install. I'm here to help
Passenger side fuse panel location 23 (power windows and switches). I used add a cuircuit fuse adapter. It is only power when ignition is turned on.
