Arrow Using Gas above 97 octane

Ok all Greetings from colorado and I have a "Dumb" question.

Can I use/run octane gas that is higher than 97 octane in my "Stock"GT ? I have found a place where I can get 111 octane (Race fuel) and want to see if I can use it ?

Found itfor $6.76 a gal.

Can I mix it 50/50 with 85 - 91 octane from the pump?

91+111=212 /2 = 106 oct.
85+111=196 /2 = 98 oct.

Please weigh in and advise, Thanks in advance, Fred

No please do not, the engine is set to run on min octane, unless you want to get a flash turner from SCT, you will damage the EGO sensors and the car will run like crap, If I was you get a tuner from SCT to run E85 its 110 to 115 octane. Other wise stay with 87 to 93 octane,

I have run nothing but sunoco 110 octane in my all but stock 1989 5.0 for 3 years but that's because i take it out of the drums for my race car! DO NOT TRY IT IN A 05 or newer stang or any for that matter unless you can afford the results.

Default Fuel

Is the fuel leaded or unleaded?? If the fuel is leaded it will screw your cats and o2 sensors up eventually. I had similar questions about race fuel in a stock GT Anyway I found an unleaded 100 octane street fuel, called StreetBlaze 100. I have more throttle response, torque, and power.

As long as it's not leaded it won't hurt anything. And unless you're tuned for it, it won't help either.
