What should the mpg be for a stock 89 5.0 5 speed 3.08 gears.

depends on temperature, how you drive, engine condition....

but...

city = 15-18mpg

highway = 18-28mpg

Had an 88 LX 5.0. Around town I got between 15 (running hard) and 18.On the highway going from Killeen, Tx to Houston I got an honest 25 mpg.I also had a 3.08 gear.
