Default O2 sensors cleaning

I just tried to clean my O2 sensors. I dont think I ever get a check engine light but I never touched the sensors till now. Ive had the car since 47k and its at 111k now. Figured maybe if I cleaned them the car may run better. I guess well see what happens. Do you think the gas mileage will get better, will the car run better?

The car drives fine, just thought Id clean them.

I put them back in after I cleaned them w some cleaner, forget which, and a toothbrush. I realise that the sensor is on the inside, and its hard to "clean" them. Some people say its not even good to clean them. Anyways, I did clean them and stuck them back in the pipes. No check engine light, and the car ran just as it did before, but now its got 50 more hp!

A handheld tuner can tell you in real time if the O2 sensors are working correctly...maybe if you clean the tailpipes you'll gain another 50 hp !

Default o2 sensors

my 98 gt was running bad with a rough idle and it was slow and sluggish it sounded like a 7cyl. i gave it some seafoam and cleaned the maf sensor and that didn't help. so i checked the rear o2 sensors and they had dirt and stuff clogged on them so i tapped them on the metal frame and cleaned the outside of them with a damp paper towel. and then i fired it up and its normal again sounds like a good ole v8 now.

so you could try cleaning them if you want too. i just cleaned the outside of them.
