I'm only posting to help you Coyote cause I know you love to argue.
Its Guerilla (sp?) time! The liberal media never wanted the US to go to war so everything is gonna be brought to us with a negative spin.....so don't let that negative spin take you on a ride. In the traditional war the Iraqi's didn't stand a chance....now those that are left will sit in rat holes taking an occasional pot shot. Fewer soldiers will die in comparison to those that died weekly under the reign of Sadam Husein.
Is it better that more Iraqis die under Sadam or a few of our soldiers die in their efforts to protect? Which life is more valuable?
Why isn't our media giving us the numbers of those that died under Sadam in comparison to those that have died in these squirmishes? I think the numbers tell the story.
And yes I do feel safer.

Yeah, I guess I'll post, too. Uh, first Coyote, I haven't read this entire thread, but have you ever been in the military? Second, how long have you lived in AR? And third, who exactly are you mad at?

I say close all the borders to the US move every single American Military member that stationed overseas back to the US. I'm sick and tired of wiping the world's ass, trying to solve their ******* problems and not getting any god damn respect for it. We need to protect ourselves and take care of our own damn problems, it's the old saying "you gotta look out for number 1." What would happen if we did that? The entire world would come begging to the US to send troops here and there to help stop this conflict or this tribal uprising. I say **** them, we need to look out for ourselves first. I apologize to the moderators for the foul language, but I really needed to get that off my chest.

I guess I DON'T see the irony. If you were running from the local police would you hide at the Sheriff's office? Or would you go to the bad guy hang out? Iran is only now conveniently capturing a few terror suspects because they realize they may be next in Bush's crosshairs. Looks like "Big Stick Diplomacy" is working!

Ummmm... WOW! Not a BAD idea, but I say go one step further. Instead of pulling ALL of our troops back to the US, let's become the Great Colonizing Tyrant Superpower the rest of the world accuses us of being! Need oil? FINE we'll take it! Welcome to the US Territory of Reaganovia, (formerly known as Iraq/Iran/Saudia Arabia).
Need stinky cheese and bubbly wine we'll invade France... oh wait... They'll just surrender it to us. I'm sure enough of our allies will come along for the ride to make it fun.

The administration seems to have been downplaying WMD lately, and the CIA reports, as well as reports from France, Russia, and Germany seem to have been correct.
Our soldiers are still dying in Iraq, and there seems to be little support from the populace of Iraq for the troops being there.

But there is news. Inevitably, the Iraqis have a Constitution (beat our speed regarding this topic by years, so lets not think them "slow"), and we didn't have interloopers (not a mis-spelling, but a double entendre) from neighboring powers roaming the streets blowing up police stations during the process, either. Congratulations to the Iraqi people for demonstrating actual everyday courage just getting the job done. Establishing a system based upon the rule of law is an essential first step in their rebuilding process.
Also inevitably, the Iraqis will complete the task of reconstituting their military, and then we can alter our military role in Iraq. As they make progress in this regard, we should be able to ramp down our operational tempo on a pretty steady curve. I doubt that the numbers will be matching, ie, add one Iraqi soldier, deduct one American or Allied Power soldier, but this should happen once a critical mass has been achieved.
Whether or not we maintain a sizeable military contingent in Iraq, or negotiate base locations with the new government, is to me an important question that is rarely asked our national leadership - and even more rarely, answered.
