Successful moron bomb attacks were carried out long ago, with a HEAVY concentration of victims within the beltway of Washington DC.
Lamentably, the victims include most of our national leadership, both sides of the aisle, and the majority of the national press corps covering such items as elections and the oil crisis.
Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, algore was NOT a victim (his condition appears congenital).
The fact that few Americans have noticed any DIFFERENCE in the behavior of our elected officials in Washington in the aftermath of the moron bomb assault is pretty darn sad.
(This also bears on the recent support by John McCain and many other afflicted polticians of greatly augmenting the rights of disabled Americans. Its painfully obvious they are feathering their own loony bin nests, as it were).
As for the rest of us, I tend to agree that it was both pathetic and moronic to ask the Saudis to pump more low grade oil, which is NOT what is most in demand. Adding to the glut of sour, heavy grade has put economic pressure on their main competition in that market (Venezuela and Iran). This MIGHT be construed as a clever plan, but of course is, like the invasion of Iraq, just another example of "governing by happy accident".

Oil is coming down as more and more gas guzzlers are shoved aside for smaller more efficient vehicles - we traveled 90,000,000 miles last last year on top of it.
Right now, the value of the dollar is one of the biggest factors in the mix.
The drop in demand is a pretty predictable curve, following fuel prices up and down, though it has ALSO followed economic conditions up and down as well (and this later factor is often seperate from the former).
The drop in futures prices, however, were clearly triggered by political action - in this case, little more than the cancelation of an old executive order, and the issuing of a political challenge to action.
This had a much more dramatic effect than any other factor.
Reid attempting to take credit after the fact because of the quixotic Senate "commodity speculation bill" was laughable, of course. I believe it failed this past week to achieve liftoff anyway.
I have always believed that just the expression of political will to get OUT of the way would be worth 20% in the cost of high grade crude, and it was. Should the Congress actually create substantive legislation addressing the oil crisis, the cost would probably ratchet down ANOTHER 20%.
In a really stupid way, Pelossi (another clear example of a National leader operating via the wish-and-a-prayer, "govern by happy accident" method) was partly correct.
Drilling our way out of the problem was not totally necessary...
All we have to do is THREATEN to do so, and the prices will sink back to a normal (still pricey, just not ridiculous) level.
As for the Dollar, I see another interesting case where cause and effect are getting confused.
IMO, some of the CAUSE of the weak dollar was political action/inaction driving the price of crude oil higher, which triggered the EFFECT, an assault on the dollar (because oil is traded in dollars).
Observe as the dollar starts to stage a rally despite no increases in interest rates, improvement in our economy, any cessation of hostilities, or spending (the opposite is true, we are spending money we don't have like crazy).

This guy is something else, and out of touch! When is the last time anyone here has had a "tune up"?? Sure if your car still has a distributor and points and made before the early 80's! He has not heard of electronic ignition? And for him to say that if everyone aired their tires up that it would save more oil than what we could drill for or produce! Run those numbers!
I don't think Obama knows what a dwell meter or a timing light is. Much less a rotor cap, points or a condenser is!lol
He is like a lot of other politicians, they think we are all a bunch of little five year olds and can't do anything with out the government holding our hands!
Obama is horrible, stupid, ignorant, and doesn't know his butt from a hot rock. He has a horrible background, very little of which is in politics, and won't even wear the american flag pin. Why people want him for president? Well anybody that does is plain stupid, that's to say it nicely and simply.

Considering he received merit-based scholarsips to Harvard, was editor of the Law Review, received honors and kudos from the conservative faculty at the University of Chigago, and had conservative judges wanting him to clerk for them, I reckon any claims of being stupid or ignorant are just wishful thinking.
There are several photos of him wearing the lapel pin, just as there are several photos of Newt Gingrich not wearing the pin.
The quality off the argument generally tends to demonstrate the intelligence of the person making the claim.
Do you have any evidence that Obama is either stupid or ignorant?
I suppose your preference is for career politicians, then?

I have watched Obama on the news, and anywhere else he shows up. I do not see where he has experience, maybe you could point this out for me? Attending great schools doesn't mean much, but if you insist, he also attended a Islamic school for 2 years in africa as a child.
Bearing 3 Islamic names(Barack Hussein Obama), a mentor that preaches hate towards white people and America, and his father being Muslim along with his wife saying "It's the first time I am actually proud of my country" only because Obama had a chance at beating Hillary, he sure does sound like a true American. A junior senator, who never answers questions directly, and won't recite the pledge of allegiance, sounds like a good president to you hah? Now lets compare him to John McCain for "fun?"
A war hero that endured years of beating for his country, a great political background, along with his great and long service in our Military, and has never said anything like Obama has about white people, such as when he talked about his grandmother, and talking about the racist remarks she would make, he called her "A typical white person." You think if McCain said "Obama is a typical black person" his career wouldn't be over?
Sorry, but there is nothing but faults with Obama, but feel free to humor with where Obama is a "Great guy."
Do you have any evidence that Obama is either stupid or ignorant?
Yes the very same evidence you have used to prove Bush is stupid and ignorant.

Look, here's the whole thing: Pledge of allegiance #1 - See the video of him SAYING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE THERE.
IT wasn't an Islamic school, it was a PUBLIC SCHOOL. Madrassas didn't exist then.
What answers hasn't he answered directly? seems they've been answered directly enough so that Jesse Jackson wanted to castrate him.
If McCain said a Typical Black Person was a crack addict, then yes. If he claimed his friend who served with him in Vietnam was a "typical black person," then, no, he wouldn't have a problem at all.

Which? there are many sources, mainly from his own activities, statements, choices in leadership, etc?
The results speak for themselves, methinks.

I am absolutely convienced that Obama, likes to hear himself talk. What person would cap off and make a claim that inflating tires will save more oil than we can produce.
Maybe he drives around on four flat tires and thinks everyone else does too.

Because we can't produce that much when it's cheap. All that's left is going to be expensive.
We have all kinds of reserves - shoot, now even Kansas is producing oil, but it's not cost effective unless it gets expensive. And even then it's not enough to last for any length of time unless it STAYS expensive for any length of time.
The wells in Kansas that are pumping now will shut down when/if it gets below 3.25 a gallon (which it already would be if the dollar weren't worthless).
The oil shale (which we have a LOT of and we can probably bring online faster than anything in ANWR) depends on it staying at 3.75 of last years dollars (last year, who knows what the dollar is worth now, I haven't kept track) and then we can produce all the oil mentioned in the article, but reducing demand is a lot cheaper than using those sources.

OK, EZ has stolen my thunder here by naming my personal "bullseye" quote from Obama demonstrating "ignorance".
I'll be kind and cede that it probably does NOT constitute evidence of "stupid", but ignorance...
Absolutely.
As for choosing Obama over McCain because Obama is NOT a career politician...
LOL, KS, get real, Obama is every bit as much a career politician as McCain! He just has a MUCH shorter career so far because he's a lot younger.
Once again, a wedge issue that has no traction because of the similarity of the two sides.
The usual problem for a Libertarian talking about a Democrat vs Republican topic!

KS, your a smart man. Smarter than Obama. And you have some common sense . . . a lot more than Obama.
That has me worried. Not about you, but Obama.
The next comment Obama might make is to leave oil in the ground to prevent sink holes.

I took Obama's advice and inflated my tires. I had 12 psi in the fronts and 8 in the rears. I guess I really was driving on flats. They now have 45 psi. My mileage went from 14 mpg to 30 city and 38 highway. The great part is I now comply with the 2012 CAFE standard. THANK YOU OBAMA!!!
Oh, the increase was due to jacking up the rear end so the car points downhill. It now coasts more than before. That's what really boosted the mileage.
