But of course, had you read the piece you would see several other videos of him with his hand over his heart.
As it's not a snapshot rather than a video (of which several do exist - all the campaign pieces are videoed) -I'd like to see the video.

If you're referring to a Typical Black Person as a Welfare Queen or a Gang Banger, you're going to be in trouble.
Someone making this claim doesn't know a "typical black person."
For example: Bill O'Reilly's surprise at being in a Black Restaurant where people didn't curse at one another, used silverware, and were polite.
His surprise showed that he doesn't know a typical black person. He only knows the stereotype of a typical black person.
the typical "Welfare Queen was Anglo, Mid-Western, and Rural. But of course statistics mean nothing when it comes to division.

1) Read Laura Bush and learn what a class act does.
2) Most Chicagoans wouldn't describe it as a racist Church, particuarly as Wright invited White Churches/Pastors in all the time.
3) Wright's work was self-help, saying Black people should not depend on white folks for advancement. Obama joined the church for its emphasis on self help, and the work it was doing on education, community development, child care for working parents, AIDS prevention, and other programs the church was doing in the community.
Something you're always demanding, and for which he took flack on in his Father's Day speech. I don't see how anyone could call it a move towards the center, because that's been an issue for him for a long time.
4) He broke ties with the church, after it became apparent that some of Wright's opinions wasn't rhetoric to get people moving, it was something more - and fighting with wright publicly (especially after wright dissed him) was a distraction.

Okay, so answer the question? Why did he call her a typical white person? Now you made many examples, which were very nice and well writen, but never directly answered Countys question. Why did obama call hid grandma a typical white person? The real answer is because he was saying she was racist. He had been saying about how his grandmother would make racist comments that would baffel him and just said "she's a typical white person". Hmm, I would say he says a typical white person is racist? Because I'm white, lookie there, I'm not racist! Wow, what a new discovery we have found, spread the news to Obama.
