He got off easy. WAY easy. Now let's see if they go through with charges for all the OTHER crimes he has committed.
He is going to have a lot to answer to. There was a so called party at his mansion that no one remembers but somehow a stripper that was there ended up dead.
I am thinking his wife will file for a divorce.

He also was fined a $1 million. Big deal. How many Navigators and Escalades did he buy on the cities dime? Not to mention all those vacation get aways on the tax payer's dollar..

Resignation in protest? Coincidence? For some reason, I am not convinced that Chief Bully-Cummings is not involved (deeply) in the Mayor's goings-on, and has been given a pass over the past few years by the media. Has Steve Wilson ever attempted to interview her in relation to hizzoner's doings? In resigning, is she attempting to duck out before SHTF?
While I'm pleased that there are some consequences for the mayor in this affair, I think it's less than he deserves. Same goes for his Chief of Staff.
There's still the matter of the assault charges from July that will need to be dealt with.

She was a puppet of the administration, I am sure she knows more than what she is telling but.....she was appointed by the mayor and probably would have been fired anyway. There are a lot of people there who's jobs will soon be gone.
By the way, she didn't resign, she "retired"

.........and now this a-hole, just another skeleton in obamas closet as kilpatrick was also endorsment by obama
Actually, during the big issue whether Kilpatrick should be allowed to the democratic convention, Obama's spokesperson said that they didn't want him there. They said his own issues would conflict with the center point of Obama's nominee acceptance.

Kwame gets 120 days in the Wayne County Bed and Breakfast.
I hope the accomodations are satisfactory for the extinguished-mayor. If congenial visits aren't allowed I'm sure someone from the prisoners union will arrange for Bubba to entertain the dude.
No Flava Fav programs for him but I'm sure they have plenty of Andy of Mayberry reruns.
It ain't over yet, I watched his address yesterday to detroiters and didn't sense a speck of regret for what he had done, Marion Barry would be proud. Of course he has to wait at least 5 years.
"I truly know who I am. I truly know where I come from. In Detroit I know who I am. And I know because of that, there's another day for me," he said in a 20-minute speech on live television. "I want to tell you, Detroit, that you done set me up for a comeback."
I need to read all he did, but when I heard how much time he got, right after that they showed a woman from here who 2 years ago, was drunk got behind the wheel of her truck with her son in the back, rolled it and killed him. She got 2 months jail and 4 years probation. She also probably was given credit for time served (usual) That angered me, she kills her kid for a decision she made on her own, and this guy gets a more severe punishment. Just doesn't make sense sometimes???

While it may be argued that the woman got off easy, he did as well. He deserved MUCH more time. I think if you look into this thug and his actions you will again be outraged, but in reverse...... you will more than likely believe that he needs to sit behind bars a LOT longer than what he has been sentenced to at this point.
Also folks need to realize that what someone is sentenced to and what they SERVE is often not even close.

It's quite extensive, the latest being shoving a police officer which resulted in 2 felonies, obstruction of justice and assault. If you are bored, you can read it here. (he didn't have to do additional time for those) via a plea bargain.
It took two weeks to negotiate a plea deal acceptable to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, state Attorney General Mike Cox and Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. The mayor faced eight felony counts of conspiracy, perjury, misconduct in office and obstruction of justice in the perjury case brought by Worthy.
And.......It's still not over, more charges may be coming.
A pending federal lawsuit filed against the mayor and the city by family members of slain stripper Tamara Greene, claiming the city thwarted the investigation into Greene's 2003 killing in northwest Detroit.
(Tamara Greene was at a party at the mayors mansion earlier and somehow no one remembers the party even taken place). coverup..cough..coverup....
