Default Planks in the Platforms

OK, thought I'd start combing throught he two party's platforms to find some hint of where they plan to take us...

CNSNews.com - 2008 GOP Platform Eliminates ‘Commitment’ to U.N.

Here's a goody, it would appear that those mean Republicans are promising to "pay a fair, but not disproportionate, share of dues" to the U.N., and "will never support a U.N.-imposed tax."

Cool. Makes lots of sense. Now for the Democrat platform version:

-----------

Hmmm, nothing there. Of course, they are usually keen FANS of the UN, so that's a non-surprise.

A wedge issue, though a small one.

Personally, I prefer taking a hard line with the UN, particularly with the concept of all of us becoming "global citizens", and then paying "global taxes".

Maybe its just me who feels that way. One of those crazy Libertarian things.

There is one thing that really caught my radar, I think it was Rudi who mentioned that at the Democratic convention they would not say "Islamic" terrorist because it would not be politically correct.
I believe you trip had made a posting about that earlier. I give them a point for bringing up that one.
