Israel is getting hammered for the powerful military campaign they have launched against Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Their actions are being called "Criminal", "Pre-Emptive" and "Exaggerated".
I have to ask, though, what would America (or Russia or China, etc) have done if there was a group of morons raining rockets, missiles and homicide terror on our cities each and every day for years?
This garbage would not be tolerated for a second here, and I see no reason why Israel, who has been FAR more patient than we would ever be, should be sanctioned for defending their citizens in this case.

I have seen similar videos posted on the Jerusalem Post website a couple days ago where they showed the rockets being launched and soon after blown up a few seconds later by the Israelis. In some cases just before the rockets were even launched.
Those guys are good and they don't screw around.

I agree with the original post. We all know full well what happens when a group of people attack the US on US soil once, let alone repeatedly for decades. But for some reason Israel isn't supossed to do the same, that's bogus.

Then over the last what is it now, 50 years Israel has been slowly expanding their borders and taking more land from the Palestinians. I’m not taking sides here. I wish one side would just wipe out the other so this crap could be over, I don’t even care who comes out on top.
And trying to draw parallels between Israel and the US is just silly. The US is a country that doesn’t have a border dispute with its neighbors, let alone neighbors that won’t acknowledge that we are even a country. Israel is not made of Teflon. Look up how many UN sanctions that Israel has ignored or broken since they were GIVEN their land. There are no “good guys” in this situation. It’s all perception and spin.

Yes, Israel IS the victim here. Not "all of a sudden" but from constant terrorist attacks from Palestine.
Has Israel been "perfect" and never done anything wrong? No. But they don't deserve the terrorist attacks nor the blind hatred the world in general seems to have for them. Further more, can you tell me when the last time "Palestine" was a self governing people and land?
Folks seem to think that Palestine was just "taken over" and given to the newly formed Israel. It was not. The land was never theirs to begin with, but has been under the control of one nation or another going back farther than anyone living there has been alive. Yet did they cause the problems they are now? hmmmm interesting.
Sorry, this is pure and simple antisemitism. Israel has done more for Palestine and given more to Palestine than anyone other nation would have done if in the same situation. And NO other nation would allow rockets to be continually launched into its civilian (or even military) areas without responding. And Israel is not "over reacting", but doing what is needed to stop the attacks.

Please condemn the UN and not Israel. The UN is toothless and a tool that is used by everyone. The UN headquarters should be relocated into Palestinian territory where it can undergo urban revitalization at the hands of Israel.
Whether Israel was handed their land or not is irrelevant. What does matter is they are a sovereign nation. If land based rockets were shot into the US from Mexico not only would I insist we respond militarily, but that we annex land for a buffer zone.

As for these thoughts, remember, Israel was created after WWII and the Holocaust. My mid-20th Century world history is a little dusty but I think I recall something about the land being given to them as a safe place for them to live since obviously there was nowhere else for them on the planet. To say that Palestine was the victim here is to say that the UN has no authority to make pacts, treaties and other such things. In the short time that Isareal has had sovereign borders, they've been invaded and attacked countless times. Numerous times, cease fires and treaties have been violated and they've violated a few. They have the right and responsibility to defend their borders and their people, that's all there is to it.

They tried a coup against the King of Jordan in the early 50's and he slaughtered them and ran the rest out of Jordan and soon afterward the King of Syria did the same.
The Arab world uses the Palistinians as a excuse to blame all of the problems of the Arab world on someone else instead of themselfs. If the Palistinians disappeared tomorrow they would find another excuse.

The whole situation is complex at best...that and these wars have been going on since the dawn of creation there in the middle east. soo. yeah. its a big BIG mess. The US is a relative "Newcomer" into this situation...but we are as well a new nation technically...really ever since Thomas Jefferson have we been flying cannon balls through towns because "they called us infedells" Thus have raided our ships accordingly. Guess what guys and gals, that hasn't changed, and never will. They choose to hate us because we are diffrent and that we are not Islam even though I have many Islamic friends (im Catholic).
