Default Chinese Drywall = 100,000 American Homes Environmental Hazards

This one is scary.

REALTOR® Magazine-Daily News-Chinese Drywall Is a Growing U.S. Problem

It would appear that perhaps 100,000 American homes may have been built or repaired with Chinese drywall, which contains severe and hazardous chemical contamination (I read one report which mentioned sulfuric acid, for instance).

What a shock! Substandard goods from Red China!

Who woulda thunk it?

thats why their batteries suck, all the acid is in the drywall you need to cut with the battery operated saw

Most of the fears of chemicals in imported goods are promoted by unions and various idiots claiming to have facts on their side...and that's not excluding corporations that exert political influence in various ways.

Witness 'Lead Contamination' and the R-12 Freon ban....and the list is endless.

I ain't scared!

Now there you go, it's because we build our houses tighter. Good excuse if I ever heard one.....

Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin, a German company with manufacturing plants in China that supplied about 20 percent of the Chinese drywall said its own tests showed the drywall didn’t cause health problems. Some experts believe that the reason that drywall seems to be causing respiratory problems and headaches is because American homes are built tighter than those in Asia, where the drywall was also sold.

Here's another...I got married in '77 and we bought a mobile home.....and were cautioned to air it out because of formaldehyde given off by the construction material....and now the US government is paying large amounts in damages to Katrina victims for breathing in chemical from the free housing and you NEVER hear about the fact that the so-called problem has been in existence since most of these bureaucrats could wipe themselves with toilet paper!....assuming they can now of course....

The first I read of this drywall problem was in January.

Cheap stuff from China is what you pay and what you get.

I surprised the drywall doesnt contain radioactive debris from their spent fuel rods.
