7 Months After Stimulus 49 of 50 States Have Lost Jobs
The table below compares the White House's February 2009 projection of the number of jobs that would be created by the 2009 stimulus law (through the end of 2010) with the actual change in state payroll employment through September 2009 (the latest figures available). According to the data, 49 States and the District of Columbia have lost jobs since stimulus was enacted. Only North Dakota has seen net job creation following the February 2009 stimulus. While President Obama claimed the result of his stimulus bill would be the creation of 3.5 million jobs, the Nation has already lost a total of 2.7 million – a difference of 6.2 million jobs. To see how stimulus has failed your state, see the table below.
WASHINGTON A top White House economist says spending from the $787 billion economic stimulus has already had its biggest impact on economic growth and will likely not contribute to significant expansion next year.
So now what?

government needs to re-route there thinking, but i doubt they are...i dont pay attention to these types of things anymore.too damn depressing,
I saw this on another website a few days ago. I'll say here what I said there. I'd like to know where the estimated numbers through the end of 2010 came from and I'd also like to know how many people total have been displaced from previous full-time careers and have not been able to replace that income yet.

These estimated numbers come from a bunch of idiots running the Country.
When Obama refers to "Hope and Change", you now know what he means.
And if anyone lives in MI where the unemployment is 15 percent, the number of claims squashes any hope of change.

We have a working Health Care system (even if it has flaws), yet we have more and more people NOT working. What "problem" would make more sense to "fix"?
It seems to me that many of the issues being tossed around would take care of themselves if people were able to WORK. They would be able to afford their own Health Care (either through their employer or privately), they would be paying taxes which contribute to the general fund (as opposed to taking away from it), they would be able to purchase more things (which in turn helps stimulate the economy and create more jobs), and the cycle goes on and on.
It has been pointed out before, and I will point it out again.... The way Democrats view "success" is by how many people they can get on Government programs and "support". The way Republicans view "success" is how many people they can get OFF Government programs and "support".
This is not about neglecting people. It is not about leaving anyone behind. It is a simple philosophy of HOW help is given and about overall control VS Liberty. We should not foster and encourage dependence on the Government but instead promote self reliance and independence.

About 7.3 million jobs have evaporated since the Recession started in 2008, almost exactly a year ago. This is a net number, and the number is growing still, every month, by about 200,000, (based on the Bureau of Statistics, typical bureaucrats, which I do NOT trust).
Even taking the numbers flowing out of DC as gospel, we are looking at unemployment near 10% throughout 2010, and 9% throughout 2011, with a chance we may drop back to the normal recession numbers of 8% which we were threatened with by newly elected President Obama, ie, we MIGHT have 8% (he told us) unemployment if we did not pass Porkzilla, er, his Stimulus Bill (without reading it) INSTANTLY. Which Congress did.
Look where THAT got us.
Anyway, the 7.3million will be up close to 10 million by this time next year, but will start to ease back toward 9 million in 2011, and might be back to where it is now by 2012.
And this is based on THEIR estimate, not mine.
"FairTax" folks. Buy the book. Read it. Understand it. Even if you don't agree with it, learn about it before you dismiss it.
It could save this country, even now.
Sorry, I had to do that. Broken record, sigh, I know.
