Default President Obama, er, Chavez Limits Showers to 3 Minutes

Could it happen here?

Hugo Chavez: No Singing in the Shower Amid Water Concerns - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News - FOXNews.com

But of course it could!

These fellow travelers exchange great, glorious ideas for fixing imaginary problems like Global Warming (and saving a few coins for the government, of course) like grannies swapping recipes.

Leave them alone for just a few minutes, and they are hugging and kissing like long lost lovers...

OK, maybe that last part along with the shower story is a little icky, but anyway, AVOID CITGO - make Chavez shower alone.

I saw this earlier while checking Foxnews.com

I really don't have a problem with it. They are having a shortage of water, so of course they need to conserve wisely.

But I know there's a hidden meaning. Like the quote "what kind of communism is that..."

Exactly. On the surface, this doesn't seem that bad. But there's more to it than meets the eye.

From an engineering standpoint, this is absolutely ludicrous.
Turning seawater into potable water requires nothing but extremely low tech hardware, and that's been available for ages and ages.
Hell, the evaps on a nuclear fast attack sub take up no more space than an average woman's shoe closet, and they make 10,000 gallons fresh water per day.

This is nothing more than someone telling you what to do "because they can", and it reeks of Leftist politics.

I was unaware that all of that was possible.

I've changed my opinion from "okay it's fine" to "man this is ridiculous"

Shortages and rationing of once commonplace items (like clean water, functioning sewage systems, milk and eggs in the stores, etc) is one of the hallmarks of communism. Chavez may think he's inventing something new, but what he's doing to Venezuela is something very dark and very old...

It is the same with food, there is no shortage, just a distribution problem.
And in most cases it is government policies that perpetuate the problem.

Hugo Chavez says; “I’ve counted, three minutes, and I don’t stink.”

He's right - - he reeks!

Yep and the 80,000 gallon per day units on an aircraft carrier are physically only about 4 times that size.

It already happens here. Cities regularly limit days and times you can water your lawn. They could just as easily mandate 3 minute howers.

Enforcement would be a different matter.

Enforcement is the easy part. Cameras in every shower!
