Here's some more of the change that we were promised. This is the website where welfare folks can get a taxpayer paid cellphone for free along with 70 minutes per month paid for by...........you. Click on the "Learn" linky and see for yerself.

I pulled this off another forum sight. Can you believe this. I'm all for helping the out the needy but his is pushing it.
Come on what does a welfare recipeant need with a cell phone. They are at home not working and have no need for a phone.
911 is free for all people.


Lets start a thread on reasons welfare person needs a cell phone.

1....To call and ask where their check is. Its the first of the month and no check yet.

EDIT: This is not to say doctors are necesarilly greedy, as insurance dictates most things. And sry for going off topic.

Rediculous that they are getting phones, then again I know 8 year olds with fully functioning ihpones, and they try and justify to me (I'm a counselor remember that) that they need it just in case. I say why an iphone though. . .they can't answer.

Yes. The solution is really quite simple. Make them PARTY lines. And they have to sign a form stating that all conversations are monitored and recorded. And get the most obsolete, BIG phones wieghing about 5 pounds.

Demand would disappear.

NOT as good a solution as just not doing something idiotic like this, but a partial solution.

Keep in mind, via "universal phone service" laws, we have all been paying fees that go to providing basic wired phone service to poor folks for decades.

I'd say that cell phones are a luxury, like beer, and should not be covered by welfare.

I know we call the U.S the land of the free but I don't think this is what it ment by free.

Free food
Free health care
Free housing
Free internet
Free cell phones
Free childcare

Why do I work? Why should anyone work? Lets all get the free stuff!!!

I think there should be drug testing for all welfare recipents. And they should only be allowed a 6 month to 1 year time frame to use these services.

I have used unemployment and WIC which is a for of welfare but it was for a short time because me and my husband both lost our job after 9/11. That is what it is for to get back on your feet when everything has fallen out from under you.
