I'm setting this thread aside to use as a list of the Washington politicians who have voted to pass bills like Cap and Tax and Obamacare.
I'll start with the fact that all but 44 House Dems voted FOR Cap and Trade energy legislation. But most hurtful of all, there were 8 REPUBLICANS who put it over the top. They are featured in this article:
The 8 traitors included Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) - John McHugh (R-NY) - Mike Castle (R-DE) - Mark Kirk (R-IL, and now running for Obama's old Senate seat) - Frank Lobiondo (R-NJ) - Chris Smith (R-NJ) - Dave Reichert (R-WA) - Leonard Lance (R-NJ). These people all need to be defeated in their primary efforts, particularly Kird in Illinois - no way do we want him representing the Republican party for the Senate.
I am of 2 minds about listing the 44 brave Democrats who voted against Crap and Tax...
They are in the article, and frankly if all Democrats showed their integrity, courage and good common sense, it would be a very different world.
I will be posting a similar recap after Obamacare passes.
When the FINAL bills pass, I will tweak these posts and come up with an enemy list.
Please check this thread from time to time for updates, and those who see their own Representatives and Senators featured here...
Remember come the next election.

LOL, the enemy list is pretty much written already. Look at the list of incumbents in office now. With VERY few exceptions, they all need to be replaced come the 2010 elections.

Thanks, Blue! I was going to have to dig out this list this morning myself.
OK, here's the core of our enemy's list. Anyone who sees their Representative here knows they have work to do between now and next November!
If you are a steadfast Democrat, who could NEVER be a Republican, you can still take a stand. For you Republicans or Independents, the same advice applies...
Go down to the next local meeting of the Party in your area, and get involved. Work from WITHIN the party to move it in the direction you think it should go. ALL of these parties draw their strength and purpose from the grass roots, IF Americans take the trouble to get involved.
Make nasty surprises like this the exception rather than the rule. Do NOT let your Party continue to be dominated by the elites with their own agendas.

I think it's going to be a real close vote in the Senate. I'm not so sure there are enough votes to pass it yet. who knows what kind of deals are being worked as I type this though.

They don't have 60. Down by at least 2.
But they have 50+. Probably about 53.
They only need 50 if Reid pulls conciliation nuke out and tosses it.
Look for this to happen with Cap and Trade as well. They will HAVE to change the rules soon anyway, to make sure they maintain control after they lose several seats (I count 3 or 4) in 2010 elections.
I also believe they will lose over 40 seats in the House, which they are NOT thinking will happen, else they would not be exposing the moderates and blue dogs in their party to so much danger.
We will see...

Losing even 20 seats in the House would be a game changer in that chamber. If 5+ are lost in the Senate at the same time, look for Obama to change courses sharply and the partisanship to become even more vitriolic than it has been thus far.

I will be quite disappointed if they pass all this nonsense in THIS economy in a by-election cycle and lose only 20 seats in the House. VERY disappointed. 40 or more should be the goal, and nothing less.
As for the Senate, its half and half who is up there this time around (I seem to recall its 16 and 16 or 19/19, can't remember off hand). Dodd and Reid are both vulnerable, and I would LOVE to see them gone. NO chance of the Repubs winning back control, of course, but I see 3 or 4 net gain, and 5 or even 6 COULD happen, if the Senate passes all the nonsense coming out of the House.
Its one reason I am so ambivalent about their agenda. If they fail to pass this stuff, it will do a lot less damage to them next election...
But a lot MORE damage to us.
Short term intense pain - with lots of relief later - or less pain now, but for a LONG time?

Yep. Reid is holding out for something really juicy, not sure what yet. He is just about toast as far as the next election is concerned - either of the two Republicans champing at the bit back home can clean his clock, and he knows it.
The pork that will get poured into his family (all of whom appear to be lobbyists of some kind) will be immense, and I would expect to see him in a cabinet post or appointed to some cushy job like Ambassador to Tahiti.

This is the guy that beat William "Cold Cash" Jefferson.
He'll be defeated anyway in the next election by whatever person has a D next to their name anyway.
