Default DNC strategists warned not to go on Fox
"One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox, he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said."

Looks like the Obama White House is still after Fox News.

Declaring war on a media outlet seems very Nixonian to me.

Nixon hated the mediain general.

Reagan was constantly lampooned by HBO, but he found it very amusing. Remeber the show Not Necessarily the News? He loved that show.

Bush 41 was quite ambivalent about news coverage.

Clinton bashed Fox News, Matt Drudge, and Rush Limbaugh especially, but he never singled out any news networks.

Bush 43 was quite candid about not liking certain news casters, but never got into the fray in a public way. He atually treated them pretty well, and then hired Tony Snow as his press secretary after Ari Fleischer.

Obama is the first in modern times to single out an entire network and openly declare "war" on them.

The reason it sounds so Nixonian, is because not since Nixon has a President been so paranoid of the press.
