Blue Streak, how are awards given?

I didn't know people could give themselves awards. I guess my grand father's awards for valor he picked himself from army surplus.

HAve you received any medals? Did you just nominate yourself and pick out 5 purple hearts? What are you saying about combat vets exactly?

Read the original documents from interviews. The kid had a grenade launcher and was attacking the boats. Kerry saved his crew.

Don't you do any real research? Or do you just repeat what people tell you?

LOL You are kidding, right? You can find “snopes.com” and read that, but can’t read Kerry’s own words after returning from Vietnam?

As for how many I did… LOL Wrong man. I either served in, or trained soldiers for every major military action from Panama to the Gulf War… and ranging over 4 continents. And guess what? I have medals as well, and was put in for the Soldier’s Medal (the highest piece time medal, the equivalent of CMH). But I can tell you that the majority of medals given are fluff and not really deserved…. While the actions that REALLY deserve medals far too often go unrewarded. And I think anyone who served more than a couple years in the military can back me up on that.

Again, I am not going to debate the facts, they are out there to be gotten. And those who want to discredit the Swift Boat Veterans because they didn’t serve directly under Kerry or on his boat are just flapping in the wind. I know many soldiers who neither shared my vehicle/team, nor did I serve directly under, and can attest factually about their leadership abilities and what they did and did not do.

So again….. go vote. Debating this is useless. I know you to be a good man, and I actually like you… we just don’t agree on a good many political issues.

He protested because his CO was discharged for not following an illegal order.

1st you say that the Detention Soldiers are guilty for following an illegal order, now you'
re saying Kerry is wrong for refusing to follow and illegal order -which is it?

You still didn't answer my question. How does a man who wants to "get out" serve TWO TOURS? Does this make any sense?

Elliot admitted he lied about Kerry because he didn't like his political stand. He retracted his statement and said he was sorry he did it.

I'm hammering this because you profess to hav eintegrity. Please explain why it's ok for you to repeat lies about a man, who by all eyewitness accounts served with honor and distinction??

Including sworn testimony by some of the people on the commercial?! The doctor who claims he treated Kerry isn't on record as ever treated or even VISITED John Kerry in the hospital!!

They did the same thing to McCain, and Max Cleland, who lost 3 limbs in service to his country. What's wrong here?

Don’t you get it? I don’t HAVE to answer your question. The facts are out there. Go find them…. but like what was said on The Planet Of the Apes…. “you won’t like what you find”.

Heck, most of these issues are discussed on any number of news programs several times a week at a minimum.

But honestly, I don’t think you want to find anything. And that is okay. You are an anti Bush person and blinded to a good many things because of it. Kerry is about the least fit person to serve as President. I will support him if he wins the election, but will do my best to make sure he does not.

However, I will openly admit that I was a McCain supporter. But I feel that Bush did a great job this first term given all the issues involved, and I think it is in our nation’s best interest to have him serve another term. Then we will see who is up for the job after that.

Again…… and for the last time…. I will not debate this, and in fact not even discuss it any more.

I love Mustangs! :thumbup

(Added: I see you added to your posts….. Warning big fellah… don’t ever question MY integrity again. While we may not agree on a good many things, I would never turn this into a personal attack on you, nor question your integrity or heart on any matter. I applaud your enthusiasm, but advise you to simmer down a bit.)

I'm not questioning your integrity, I'm asking a simple question. Is it ok to repeat lies about another person?

Did you pick out the medals you were given? Surely, you know the process, including the incident investigation.

Bush's group is implying that the award process is a joke. that means your medals could be construed as illegitimate.

At the very minimum, Cheney got 5 (I think that's a record) and had a kid exactly 9 months after learning it was a way out of Vietnam. Bush went to a champagne division as a pilot despite earning a 25% on a pilot aptitude test. THEN he learned to fly an obsolete aircraft, and couldn't even show up for a physical. And these guys are questioning Kerry's courage.

You bet I'm angry. I'm really surprised you aren't.
