It's becomming apparent that your objective here is to dominate the thread with worthless rhetoric.
Would you call Jimmy Carter decisive? He was no idiot, but certainly not decisive.
Bill Clinton was cautious to a fault, has learned nothing from his mistakes and to this day refuses to admit them. "Caution means making the BEST decisions"? You mean like not taking the opportunity to take out Bin Ladin when Clinton had the chance? Would you consider his affair with an intern - IN THE WHITE HOUSE - a cautious act? These are the characteristics of the Democratic party. Their history in the White House speaks for itself.
Jimmy Carter was a control freak.
CLinton caught the WTC bombers of 1993, stopped the 2000 bombing plot in Seattle, enforced the No-Fly zone, stopped genocide in the Balkans, stabilized Mexican currency, decommissioned and catalogued the Nuclear Arsenal in Russia and former USSR republics, and caught and prosecuted the Oklahoma City bombers. What do you want?
Where's Osama, Where's Al Zarquaui? What's going on with the Nuclear Arsenal in Russia? North Korea (where we're pulling troops for Iraq), Iran?
Please.

That's not even mentioning the peace deal in Ireland, and coming VERY close in Israel.

Do you know anything about flying coyote? I kinda do. Probably because I'm a navy pilot and fly an obsolete POS aircraft. I've even got one crash under my belt. Flying an obsolete aircraft (obsolete only because it was surpassed by the day's fighters like the F-4 and F-106) with an accident rate like the F-102 took skill and some balls. The then 2/1LT Bush had to fly jet trainers and the F-102 in formation, acm, intercept, IFR, night form, tac form, etc. That takes skill period and nobody was up there flying the aircraft for him. I've also missed a physical, but only by a month or so. Being active duty meant that I would be able to complete it at some point with certainty. Being in the gaurd or reserves and away from your assigned base could make it difficult. I guess my point is missing the physical doesn't mean **** and shouldn't. Flying the F-102 in the Air Gaurd took talent and courage because of the difficult nature of that aircraft and flying fighters in general.
It also meant he'd never have to go to Vietnam.
I'd bet it was 4x as hard for Bush, seeing as how he only scored a 25% on his proficiency exam. How many pilots do you know who scored 25%?

Not to mention defunding the Taliban, and other terrorist network funders.
What does Bush do? starts giving the taliban money his 1st few months in office. Something Human Rights suppoorters, myself included protested in writing.

How do you get a purple heart? I can post detailed regulations.
And how do you explain the huge number of veterans who don't get medals because the rest of their units were killed. You KNOW they just don't hand out medals. THere is an investigation which gets more demanding the higher you go up the chain of honors. You know that!! Can you go to the PX and order them?
I don't give a **** what you can post, are you in the military? Have you ever written an award? Just about everything you post is from some article or website. Thats the only arguement you ever have. Sorry bud, but they do just hand out medals, many times, IMO for very undeserving circumstances. I just came from an E-2 squadron with E-2 NFO's walking around with air medals and even a bronze star for flying circles at 30K feet in a low threat environment. As far as I know, they never flew near a threat ring. Rules are set forth for earning an air medal (so many missions giving that aviator so many points in a certain area) and the bronze stars were given out out to some NFO's who participated, via their radar scope, hundreds of miles away from the strike. During OEF, I flew high/low altitude logistic missions into Pakistan a few occasion. We were limited due to the perceived threat. The area was apperntly loadeed with pro-Taliban supporters armed with SA-7's and small arms. The C-130 pilots flying out of Jacobabad flew only at night and could see the muzzle flashes when they took off and landed from the nearby village. They were earning air medals for that. We were the only logistic aircraft flying during the day in that area. I never would have expected any medals or awards for doing my job and rightfully so I didn't put in for any and nor was I awarded any. Yet E-2 pilots flying circles at 30K along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border earned 2-3 airmedals?? Ridculous IMO. You probably read about the sub skippers that were awarded bronze stars for firing cruise missiles into Iraq. What threat were they under? So medals and awards are still given out for ridiculous reasons. I commend Senator Kerry for his combat service but I don't believe he earned all his medals, especially his first purple heart. There is something called honor and when fellow soldiers lose legs, arms and actually earn a Pruple Heart then he applies and accepts one for a scratch. WTF. Where is the honor in that?

SOOOOO! You don't know that they never flew near a threat ring.
His CO put him in. BTW, Kerry commanded an aluminum boat with no armor. His mission was to DRAW enemy fire.
Again, how does someone earn a purple heart?

The Purple Heart was established by General George Washington, at Newburgh, New York, on 7 August 1782, during the Revolutionary War. It was reestablished by the President of the United States per War Department General Orders 3, 1932 and is currently awarded pursuant to Executive Order 11016, 25 April 1962, Executive Order 12464, 23 February 1984 and Public Law 98-525, 19 October 1984.
a. The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of an Armed Force or any civilian national of the United States who, while serving under competent authority in any capacity with one of the U.S. Armed Services after 5 April 1917, has been wounded or killed, or who has died or may hereafter die after being wounded
(1) In any action against an enemy of the United States.
(2) In any action with an opposing armed force of a foreign country in which the Armed Forces of the United States are or have been engaged.
(3) While serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.
(4) As a result of an act of any such enemy of opposing armed forces.
(S) As the result of an act of any hostile foreign force.
(6) After 28 March 1973, as a result of an international terrorist attack against the United States or a foreign nation friendly to the United States, recognized as such an attack by the Secretary of the Army, or jointly by the Secretaries of the separate armed Services concerned if persons from more than one service are wounded in the attack.
(7) After 28 March 1973, as a result of military operations while serving outside the territory of the United States as part of a peacekeeping force.
b. While clearly an individual decoration, the Purple Heart differs from all other decorations in that an individual is not "recommended" for the decoration; rather he or she is entitled to it upon meeting specific criteria.
(1) A Purple Heart is authorized for the first wound suffered under conditions indicated above, but for each subsequent award an Oak Leaf Cluster will be awarded to be worn on the medal or ribbon. Not more than one award will be made for more than one wound or injury received at the same instant or from the same missile, force, explosion, or agent.
(2) A wound is defined as an injury to any part of the body from an outside force or agent sustained under one or more of the conditions listed above A physical lesion is not required, however, the wound for which the award is made must have required treatment by a medical officer and records of medical treatment for wounds or injuries received in action must have been made a matter of official record.
(3) When contemplating an award of this decoration, the key issue that commanders must take into consideration is the degree to which the enemy caused the injury. The fact that the proposed recipient was participating in direct or indirect combat operations is a necessary prerequisite, but is not sole justification for award.
(4) Examples of enemy-related injuries which clearly justify award of the Purple Heart are as follows:
(a) Injury caused by enemy bullet, shrapnel, or other projectile created by enemy action.

I'm pretty sure x-rays will confirm the shrapnel Kerry STILL carries.
So how did he NOT earn it?

According to his first CO, he denied the Senator's input. It is unkown how it was approved. Also, I understand how a purple heart is earned. The problem with Kerry is he applied for his first purple heart.

Meanwhile Bush was partying in Alabama, Texas, and who the heck knows where.
Sickening.

It takes approximately two years to train a fighter pilot. That's from primary to advanced. Then a pilot has to learn to fly the specific aircraft they are going to fly. When the President applied, F-102's were very much still a part of the Vietnam war. Granted they were not front line but several were still lost in combat. On top of that, members of the 147 FIG from the Texas Air Gaurd were rotated into combat but needed 500 flt hours in the F-102 to do so. Additionally, over 9,000 air gaurd personnel served in Vietnam. As well, 6 Air Gaurd fighter squadrons flew in Vietnam (though they were all equipped with the F-100's). My point is being in the Air Guard was not and is not a certain way out of combat. The only person who knows for sure as to why he decided to go with the Air Guard is the President. Any other guess is pure conjecture.
Here it all is his record. I can find no reference for him putting himself in for the purple heart. Where's Bush's documents?
Where's Cheney's? Wolfowitz's? Pearle's? Any of 'em?

Since he rarely showed up, I would guess he wasn't planning on going.
The Texas unit he served in had no chance of going, it's why it was called a champagne division.
Kerry went as an enlisted soldier. He VOLUNTEERED.
