Well put Scott!
Many Members took notice that other members were getting upset about their political threads and out of genuine concern, they took it upon themselves and toned things down significantly as of recent.
Too those members, we want to say "thank you".
All of us here at AFM have learned something the past few weeks. Although many websites do not trust their members and enforce tough restrictions with a heavy hand on their forums, we have learned that if we ask for your help and cooperation, we get it. Most websites would never EVER allow a political thread, but we know that Mustangs are not just cars, they are a part of your daily life. And if we are going to all enjoy the Mustangs together, we will also know that our personal lives will come into the forums as well. And this includes many things that are not Mustang specific, such as personal ups and downs, politics, spouses, etc.
We hope that this perspective sets us apart from the rest of the generic car websites. We want you to have a place to not only talk and learn about Mustangs, but to also build friendships and memories. As corny as that may sound, we believe that is what AFM is all about. And judging from what we see, this is exactly what we have here already.
However, we want to also preserve the right of people to come here to relax and feel comfortable. If something gets to out of hand, we have a responsiblity to step in and correct things. As Scott has said, we will be working harder to keep things better under control. Hopefully, we will never have to ban political threads and from the cooperation we are now getting, we believe it is a problem that is now behind us.
I think everything constructive about this subject has been said and so I have now LOCKED it.
Thanks again everyone! Know lets move forward and put this topic to bed!
