They would of funded him going to a university but he chose trucking, guess what? it cost a whole lot less then a university and he is making huge money, (twice my salary on a slow year for him) had what he pays in taxes more them makes up for the schooling the government paid for.

People may of eaten whoppers & big macs in the 70s and 80's but compare the number of them sold back then to the number sold now. In the 70�s the only fast food restaurant in town was a Dairy Queen. It wasn�t until 85 when we got a McDonalds. How many people on this board have ever had farm raised beef that was not injected with chemicals? I know people with it in their freezers right now and that number has been greatly reduced in the last 30 years. When I worked fast food in high school a large cup was now what most restaurants consider a small. We didn�t have SUPER SIZED portions either, or kids eating McDonalds 4meals daily and ordering shakes with those meals and then wanting to sue McDonalds because they are fat!

I could go on. But one of the women I dated was a health/fitness instructor, with a degree in kinesiology & pre-med, a masters in health and nutrition, and is working a Ph.D of some sort in medicine. Her dad was also a doctor in McPherson.
The body can process simple sugars, and starch sugars correctly. HF corn syrup is a fructose made from a starch. The body stores it as a starch. Instead of burning it like a sugar.
Basically, the body thinks it's getting a sugar, processes it like a starch, and it throws the system into a feedback loop, that it can't self correct.
Re: Beauty Colleges and Trucking Colleges. It's not the students, graduates, etc., It's that several schools were busted for fraud for classes not taken, students who never took classes, and overcharging the higher educational system for said classes. There's nothing wrong with honest colleges and schools, just like there was nothing wrong with honest savings and loans.
Fast Food has been in my hometown since the 50s. people ate there a lot. There is nothing wrong with eating beef, potatoes, etc. it WILL NOT cause weight gain and diabetes. It's the way french fries are made (YES, the PROCESSING) in which the natural ingredients are removed, processed and replaced into the starch hull of the potatoes. It's the HF Corn Syrup, it's the additives in beef, it's all the corporate crap they're putting in it.

It ISN'T sugars and starches, per se. There are SEVERAL peoples who subsist mainly on sugars and starches (think Asians and Rice, Central Americans and Corn, South Americans and Potatoes, Heck several African tribes subsist on MILK and HONEY (Lactose and sucrose)) but diabetes is starting to hit them hard as well, AFTER they move to the US.
