Fox News Channel's Major Garrett reported Wednesday that the Red Cross had "trucks with water, food, hygiene equipment, all sorts of things ready to go ... to the Superdome and Convention Center."

The Red Cross has been meeting the needs of thousands of New Orleans residents in some 90 shelters throughout the state of Louisiana and elsewhere since before landfall. All told, the Red Cross is today operating 149 shelters for almost 93,000 residents.

I live in a Red State, I'm from a RED STATE, and I used to be a REPUBLICAN.

My state HAD the 5th best education system. My state HAD the best transportation infrastructure in the country. My state WAS wealthy, and took care of it's seniors. My state USED to have industry, jobs, and a future.

What eats me alive is how low we've sunk. We're taking aid from Mexico. Chavez just sent us a bunch of fuel, and the UN is offering to teach US how to respond to disasters.

Why don't you look up which states have the best education systems, which states have the lowest # of divorces, which states have the lowest infant mortality, which states have the lowest number of abortions, which states have the highest incomes, and which states have the longest life expectancy.
