Good one, ONEZ ST. Its amazing - hard to believe that headline is true, its so full of irony!

Sad for the family (just like Bush and his daughters), but right on point.

No, it'd be sad if it were any of our families, but for any of those elitist jivy league scum, it's hilarious.

The Goreacle will be needing the Pious back, else his carbon credits for the month will go all the heck. After consulting the list, it would appear that the yahoos credit you for outstanding carbon thriftiness EVEN when you are crashing the sound barrier with the gasoline motor of the hybred (in this case, "highbred") pegged on the rev limiter. The more gas you burn, the more credits you earn.

Sweet system, eh?

But nothing beats being the middle man in the transaction. As the imaginary carbon credits flow in either direction, the Goreacle (who owns the exchange) makes money both ways.

Neatest con I've seen since the grandaddy of them all (Global Swarming) was concocted.

I was listening to Neil boortz and he said compairing the toyota hybred to the hummer from they are made to the time they hit the junk yard they use the same energy. Mainly because of the type of batteries and where they are made and the energy it takes to make the batteries. Plus the expense of corn for ethenol. On how much acerage and the processing(the tractor, fuel, all the expenses of running a farm mkt price) their is more to it but you get the picture.
The tree hugers have been busted global warming so now they are calling it climate change.

And the prious, at the end of its life, actually leaves a dirtier legacy than the dummer, because of its batteries.

Default If you Live in New Jersey, Get out now!

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Reuters) - New Jersey became on Friday the first U.S. state to mandate sharp greenhouse gas reductions by 2050 to help fight climate change.
The law, signed by Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat, makes New Jersey the latest state to bypass the Bush administration by setting mandatory regulations to fight emissions of gases that scientists link to global warming.
"We want to send a message to Washington. Wake up, get with the program and start doing something about greenhouse gases," Corzine told reporters at Giants Stadium on the eve of former Vice President Al Gore's international Live Earth concerts.
The Global Warming Response Act mandates cuts of greenhouse gas emissions throughout New Jersey's economy by about 16 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050 in the country's most densely populated state.

Bend over people:

Public Service Enterprise Group, owner of New Jersey's largest utility, said PSEG supports the law but that it would lead to higher power prices.
"I believe customs are willing to pay for the higher costs associated with the environmental benefits," the company's Chief Executive Ralph Izzo told Reuters at the ceremony where Corzine sighed the bill.

It's about time they do something about the true cause of global warming.

Burping cows and sheep are being targeted by UK scientists to help bring down Britain's soaring levels of greenhouse gas pollution. Experts at the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research in Aberystwyth say the diet of farmed animals can be changed to make them produce less methane, a more potent global warming gas than carbon dioxide. Farmed ruminant animals are thought to be responsible for up to a quarter of "man-made" methane emissions worldwide though, contrary to common belief, most gas emerges from their front, not rear, ends.

Default Methane

Right about cows and sheep producing lots of methane. Several stomachs working overtime to breakdown cellulose there...

Default No more Tangerines

The politics of global warming got very concrete, and oddly difficult, in a meeting with local environmentalists in the coastal town of McClellanville today, where Elizabeth Edwards raised in passing the importance of relying on locally-grown fruit.
"We've been moving back to 'buy local,'" Mrs. Edwards said, outlining a trade policy that "acknowledges the carbon footprint" of transporting fruit.
"I live in North Carolina. I'll probably never eat a tangerine again," she said, speaking of a time when the fruit is reaches the price that it "needs" to be.
Edwards had talked about "sacrifice," at the meeting, but Elizabeth's suggestion illustrated just how difficult it is to sell the specifics of sacrifice.
Asked about her comment immediately after the event, John Edwards avoided the question twice, then said he isn't sure.
"Would I add to the price of food?" he asked. "I'd have to think about that."

It is not a total hoax, but those hippies will do anything they can to exaggerate the HELL out of it.

Hey, guess what? Mars is warming up too! At the same rate we are! By Gorical logic, the Martians must be ****ing up a storm over there on Mars, and they should implement a gas-mileage killing box to put on their Martian exhausts to prevent unnecessary pollution!

I read somewhere, that termites are the biggest emitters of methane on this planet.

Correct. Particularly in the tropics - the little bugs put out 10 times more methane than all humans and domesticated animals combined.

A while back we were discussing this topic, and decided (by examining the Goreacle's own "90% reduction (!!!!) in warming gas emissions from human sources" goals that he'd have to go after the termites after he killed off about 90% of us.

I wouldn't put that past him...
