Default New Member - 1970 Mustang 302 Boss Coupe

Hello fellow Mustang owners. My name is Bim and I am from Wooldand, CA and I just bought a '70 Mustang Coupe for my 14 year old son, Brian. We have wanted a new Mustang for a while, but there was no way I was going to buy a new one for him to dirive, so an older one was the way to go.

It is a coupe model that he found and had been stored since 1989 in a garage. Its a 302 with a C4 tranny and the body is straight with three tiny rust spots. The owner had taken the car apart to restore and never finished. I only paid $1200 for it...his loss and our gain!

We have some big resto-mod plans for the car. It is originally red, however I want to paint it Medium Blue Metallic (not a Boss color) and it will have a "Street Boss 302" with a C6 built for it. It will have the Boss decals and of course, the "Shaker Hood scoop". I am considering changing out the rear quarters pieces with the Shelby ones and installing the Shebly trunk lid. It will also have the front spoiler and rear spoiler wing (maybe) on the trunk. Interior will look similar to the Boss and Mach 1 interior. The car will ride on 15x7 Magnum 500 wheels and BFG tires.

If this car turns out like we plan, I just might have to keep it for myself.

Thanks for the welcome!

This makes the fourth site I have joined due to the vehicles I own. Two truck sites for a F150, a Ford Fusion site, and now one for Mustangs. I'll probably be spending a lot of time on this site as I get to know everyone and start to ask questions as we begin our project.

Hiya, welcome to the site. Wouldn't mind a 1970 myself.
