1965 Mustang Coupe New Owner I just purchased a 1965 Mustang Coupe. It was originally a 6 cyclinder vehicle. I bought it since it was an Arizona NO RUST car. It has a 302 engine, C4 Transmission and original 7.5 rear end. My goal over the next year is to replace the rear end with a 9", rebuild the transmission, rebuild the top end of the engine and make sure it has disk brakes all the way around with 5 bolt pattern.
I would like to start with finding a 9" rear end with disk brakes.
Any suggestions on which vehicles I should look for to get the best
bang for my buck?
Next I would like to rebuild the C4 transmission. What is the best rebuild kit out there with the MOST REPLACEMENT PARTS?
And same question with rebuilding the top end of the 302 engine. What is the best kit out there for the price?
Thank you in advance for any help from people reading my post.
I will be diving into these forums. If you can just link me to the forum to read, that would be great as well.
I am new to Fords. I normally work on all things German. I just restored a Porsche 951 Turbo......so if there are some cool specialty tools that I need to know about for this car, please throw me all the suggestions. I love buying new tools. So far I have only bought the standard tools and torx bits. I have air tools, four post lift, and full chest of tools......just looking for the specialty stuff.
I now understand the love for these cars. I love this car already! |
