Question 1979 Cobra Mustang 5.0 need help!

Hello,
I'm new to the blue oval crowd, I come from the "Bowtie Dark Side". So spare the bull.
I just recently became the owner of a 1979 Cobra, beautiful car tons of potential, and I am in dire need of assistance. I haven't gotten the chance to disect the vehicle yet. I go to school at Universal Technical Institute in PA, and the car is in My home town of Charlotte Hall, MD. so this weekend I will be able to tear it apart. I have been doing some research looking for stock specs on that year and after many of failed attempts I thought I would resort to a mustang forum.

So any advice on getting my 1979 Cobra project on the road would be greatly appreciated. My uploaded picture is actually some other 79' but mine is the same just a little less shiny and does not have the "cobra" on the hood. Same Yellow and Black two-tone though.

I'm looking for advice also on finding interior panels and OEM gauges and brackets, its all kinds of cracked and warped on the inside.

Well thanks again .

Justin Corbett

Hey thanks Wagon for the broadcast adjustment.

So yea, got this Pretty hot little Cobra and don't know what to do with the thing.
I'm looking for a way to look up old 1979 manufacturer specs. . . like what kind of tranny is in it? it came stock with a 3 Spd Auto!! .

i mean should i swap out a T5 or just throw manual valve-body and get a shift kit and that lil damn thing will shift faster than anything ud ever seen. lol

well lay it down for me if u can, thanx
