Default Vin Number Locations on a 1969 Mustang

I know that vin numbers are located on the door, windshield, and fender apron. However, for my 1969 mustang, all three locations have different numbers. And the one on the apron is partially gone. Are there any other locations on a 1969 where the vin number will be placed? Thanks

Welcome to AFM. I would hope the windshield one is the correct one for your car. The car must have been totally rebuilt some time in its past. Hopefully some one on here will be abe to help you out in finding the other vin.

the dash vin should be what it is titled as doors can be changed as well as inner fenders but the title goes with the chassis and or dash number

Thanks. The car is tilted by the dash vin. However, when I had a Marti report done based on this number, the description was not even close to my car. Do you know where there might be any other vin number locations?

The VIN should be on both inner fenders/shock towers on the driver's and passenger side.

If the motor is original it would be on top of the block between the intake and bell housing. This area has to be very clean to see it.

In 69 those are the only other spots it would be besides the dash and door.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Greetings and welcome to AFM! What did the Marti Report say about your car that was different?

The Marti report stated that my car is an acapulco blue fastback with only two options: a fold down back seat and power steering. While my car has both of these options, it also has the interior of a mach 1, power brakes, front disc brakes, and stock air conditioning. Also, it appears that the original paint was white. I'm not certain, but I believe that several changes to the car would have to be made to put in stock air. Wiring, duct work, switches, dash, and a few other things. This and the white paint make me think that the vin in the dash is not original to my car.

Any of what you stated could have been added or changed at any time in the cars life. The original paint could have been stripped off and a new color applied, interior parts can be swapped out, and orginal air can be added at any time. Brakes can be changed out easily too. Sound to me like a previous owner upgraded the car alot.
