I had the Mach 1 style hood on my old 88 GT vert, its all personal preference. I got a lot of compliments on that hood, I painted the openings flat black to look open. If I had a scanner I would show a pic, but I don't so I'll describe it. Bright red, white vinyl int., new white top, white letters in rockers and back bumper, white stripe going around the grove in ground effects, and yes white pin stripe. I also found a set of 16 inch pony rims. I think the white pin stripe was a little too much but it got a lot of looks going down the road.
