Hello all you mustang lovers! I am trying to do what looks like an impossible task. I want to place an order for a new Shelby GT 500 in the Roanoke, VA area (or anywhere for that matter) Can anyone out there in Mustang Lovers Land tell me how to find out who has an allottment?

My Dad shares this love for Mustangs. He swears this would be the best investment a girl could make and have FUN, too, and since I seem to be a 40 something girl who seems to need a cool car...

Thanks Aaron. I hope someone out there can help me. I am going to spend a few days with my folks tomorrow and I am sure "the car" will be a big part of all of the conversations until my Mom will be about to kill us both....LOL

Well, the question is not who has the allotment. You can find that on ebay. The real questions is how much over MSRP are you will to pay to have to privalege to buy one?

Look on ebay, many dealers are auctioing off the right to purchase. Otherwise... do a search. Many people have listed what dealers are taking orders and depsits or who they have talked to that will get one. I know for sure that Lance Cunningham Ford in Knoxville TN will get a few. Again though... are you willing to pay enought to be one of the people who gets one?

Thanks for the info. Believe it or not, I have had some luck and actually found a dealer who already has one. Several in my area have 2 to 3 coming in. The prices are varying by a huge amount. One dealer wants $20,000 over MSRP but won't give a delivery date of take a deposit.

Here is my next question. Is it true that this vehicle is only going to be available in a 6 speed?

So would you quickly scoop up the one I found for $62,000? That is $16,000 over. What do you think?

Thats probably a good deal.. but no I wouldn't. I would buy a base GT and have a Supercharger installed and a 6-speed and still come out ahead.

Im sorry, but the new Shelby's will never be worth as much as the old ones and people paying more than $5K over sticker will never get their money back on investment because there are more to come.
