I've been lurking on the list for a couple of weeks, but am just now getting around to posting my first message. Sorry it has taken me so long. I'm a very proud owner of a new '06 GT Premium in Tungsten and 18" polished bullitt wheels. I've never owned a Mustang before, but really like this one better than the Camaros and Corvettes I've had before. I love the new retro styling. I just had the windows tinted and stripes added last weekend (see pic). I really like it!!
I did learn from the group about the window tint scratching and had the moleskin installed like recommended on the list. Worked like a champ. You guys already saved my *&$^ on that. Thanks!!
The next thing I'd like to do is to upgrade the exhaust. I'm thinking Borla or Ford Racing (they are the same thing right??). I don't want anything too load like SLP, but something that is not too much louder than stock at idle, much louder at WOT, but very little if any drone at cruise speed. Since Ford used Borla on some past Cobra's, and the fact that they sounded nice form the clips I've heard, I thought they would work out well. I'm thinking I'd just leave the H pipe as is to maximize the deepness of the exhaust tone. Any Borla/FRPP experts out there than can confirm I'm going in the right direction here?
I'd also like to get a CAI, but am very nervous about voiding the warranty with a new tune. I read that the Air Raid doesn't have to have a tune, but was skeptical as to whether it would be worthwhile doing without a tune or not. I'd love any advice on this too, but I know there are already some threads on both of these topis so I'll see what I can find out in those.
