Default Boss Mustangs from 1969 to 1971

Boss 302 mustangs were made available in1969 , the engine was
designed special for racing. Ford was involved in Trans-Am road racing , and needed a strong engine to be able to beat the Cameros.
so the Boss 302 engine was developed. The engine had special heads that had a canted valve arrangement, with screw in studs and guide plates for the push rods. The engine block assembly was
also special ,it had four bolt main bearing caps and a forged steel
crank shaft.

Boss 302's for 1970 were almost identicle execpt the intake valves were slightly smaller which helped the street manners.

You forgot why it had to be a 302... they had to have less than 305cu in of displacement.
