Default Hellllp?? Possible timing problem

I have an 87 2.3l that until just recently ran great. Problem started when I backed up on a crub, when I came down off the curb, the back of the car hit pretty solid. After that the car barely ran. (hard starting, no power, back firing) I thought that the timing slipped and reset everything per the Haynes Repair Manual. That didn't help. Took it to a mechanic and they said that the fuel pump wasn't putting out enough pressure.

I replaced fuel filter, distributor cap, rotor, wires and plugs. Purchased a new fuel pump and after taking tank down, found hole in hose that connects pump to line. Replaced hose, reinstalled tank. Car then started up immediately just like it always had..Great. But then driving it I found that it no longer had the power it did have before the curb incident. It slows down considerably going up hills. It also seems like the mileage has fallen quite a bit.

I don't know what else to do. The only thing that is really different is where I reset the timing. Did I mess it up and Is it in the timing. Does anybody know the exact procedure to set up timing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks loads,

Don
