Who Would Win ? 2002 Roush Mustang v.s. 2003 Saleen Mustang
I have heard some people go back and forth about what stang could beat what stang. Well Im going to put these 2 stangs together and see what you guys think the winner will be. To tell you the truth I would believe the Saleen. But then again I have seen a Roush take a slaeen in a drag race too.

Vortech Supercharger, 3:73 Gears, Custom CAI, Off road H pipe no catts to mufflers by PYPES, SCT tunner, Stage 2 Spec Clutch, Stage 2 rebuilt cam, Rebuilt Motor.
I think the saleen would get it, think they had lil over 400 hp vs the stage 3 roush having around 380. But it would only beat the roush by so much. Hate to say it cuz im more of a roush fan (just for the parts) Do love the saleens though

Is that all the 03 Saleen had? I thought it had a lil more, i just saw one at a car show and it had the original price sticker in the windshield and i was reading it and it was rated at 425hp. Must have been a special edition or something. And yesm the stage 3 did have 360, i was thinking of the 380R which did have 380hp.

I always felt the Saleen supercharged stangs were a little over rated. Not from experience of course but from what I've read and seen (saw one run at the track). I'm not talking the newer S281E's or the older S351's, those are badass by all accounts. So I'll magazine race a bit, as thats all I've got. I have an old article here from MM&FF, Dec 01 issue. They ran an 01 Roush stage 3 vs an 01 Saleen S281 superchared. Bit older models but maybe an indication. The Stage 3 was rated at 360hp/375tq....ran 12.831@107.36 on street tires. The Saleen was rated at 365/400 at ran a 12.951@105.96 on street tires and 12.7 with slicks. Probably hard to launch with the road race suspensions as well.
MM&FF also ran a Roush last year against a C6. It's a newer one, rated at 415/385 at ran a best of 12.85@107.58. More power than the old car but more weight so it doesn't look like much has changed. Then again, different days, different tracks and drivers could be the reason as well. The C6 ran a 12.59@112.77 so a bit off than some regular folks have done. I'm thinking the Roush could run faster closer to mid 12's@108-109.

The one at the car show you saw was most likely a S-281E.

Yeah, very long drive. There is going to be a mustang meet at Whipple Superchargers in Fresno. Don't know how many people will show up but we had around 10 mustangs that came and a viper also in mix. We just hung out and some dyno tuned their rides. Your more than welcome to come if you want to make the trip. Just let me know.
