Well, as the title states. Has anyone ever been hated on by other Stang owners? I was challenged to a little race the other night by my neighbor who owns a really nice fox body Stang. Really nice, a well built 302, edelbrock heads, e-cam, edelbrock victor efi intake, all the bolt on goodies you can throw at it, minus a blower or happy gas, and no gears or suspension work. I have owned plenty of fox bodies, 6 at a time once... I drove an 86 GT for a while, then a 79 capri for 7 years before buying my 05, so I know what the foxes can do. I am no way a street racer, nor do I support illegeal street racing.... Sometimes you just cant resist. There is a street about 2 blocks from where we live thats about a half mile long, nice newer blacktop. I figure sure what the hey, it should be a good race. Well we get to the street, we measure out half of the street and call it a 1/4 mile. 2 of our buddies tag along to witness flag us off, and one at the finish line. we run once.... He pulled on me good, I tagged the rev limiter going into second, recoverd cought him and passed the light pole (which we said to be the finish line) beat him by about half a car. We did 2 more runs after that before we woke up the neighborhood....lol... On the second run, I took off from an idle he had about a car and a half on me, till his car just nose dove, sounded like he missed a shift, he didnt recover, got him by about 2 cars. On the third run, I said to hell with it, and let it all go, launched off at abuot 2200, had him by a car at i guestimate the 60 foot, ended up winning by 2 cars..... I slow up to say good race, and he just screams by.... So i now have to give my other buddies a ride home. Now my neighbor keeps avoiding me, and is talkin mess sayin I'm a sand bagger and got more stuff done to my car....nope sorry pal, just an intake and flowmasters, typical start, car is naturally powerful from the factory.... Ive gotten my a$$ handed to me in races before, and i take it, say good race. It kinda sucks, I did not wanna piss anyone off.... I have run into alot of other kids, or dudes my age drivin around fox bodys that just look at me with evil eyes, rev at me, or scream by me.... I just say whatever..... Anyone else have this happen to them?

Don't worry about it dude, he is just butt hurt. If people whine when they get beat they shouldn't race in the first place. Nice kills and I think it would be a different race if he had gears. Who builds a Fox and leaves out one of the mostimportant mods?

yeah ive had something similar happen it was yesterday actually. i was headin up the onramp to the freeway N-5 and this fox body that had a 5.0 badge on the side is riding me up the ramp! so i u know accelerate get on the freeway and move so he can have fun showing off to his gf. but as they drove by i look over and notice well hes givin me an evil look but i swear his gf was thinking something different when she saw my car and compare it to his fox body that had chipped and dull paint so i felt like i won without even doing anything muahahah lol
Give him a little jar of Vaseline as an apology for being so rough on him along with a spec sheet on the 05+ Mustang showing what it can do from the factory. Nahhh...would probably just really tick him off.

Sounds like some of that dreded "new car envy" to me. You have a newer, sexier, faster, more advanced model Mustang than him and he wishes he had it instead of you. No more no less. He is obviously jealous of anyone who has anything newer than him and any amount of kind words from you toward him or his car would not change his childish feelings. Screw 'em and enjoy your car.

I have gotten a little bit of trouble from fellow stang owners and it tends to be from the Foxbody crowd as well. I have no idea why though. I think their cars when modded correctly sound better, and you can put a few grand into that car and make it haul some serious butt whereas with my car its going to cost you a TON OF CASH to mod it.

That’s just plain weak. It wasn’t like you were busting on him to race you. He challenged you, you set him straight, and now he’s being a ***** about it. If it were my neighbor I’d have waged a 6 pack on it for fun. That way we can down a few beers after and bs about it. Sorry your neighbor is so insecure. Some folks just can’t handle the fact that there is always going to be a faster car out there.
The only stanger that was hatin on me was that dude with the red notchback. Used to WOT by my house every pass. It’s been a couple months since he’s been by… I bet the idiot finally blew it up over revving. Too bad I never got the chance to run him with my 72.
Other than him tho, generally my fellow mustang brethren have always been very cool.

Oh yeah. I am a senior in high school. Well, there is a group of kids who own a couple stangs from the 94-98 SN95 generation and they are always hating on me because I drive my classic to school. They get angry at me and ask me if I am trying to show them up. If I was trying to show them up, it wouldn't be too difficult. They have all put the same ugly bodykit on their cars, underglow lights that match their paint colour, and those big, stupid exhausts you see on the back of a riceburner to try and make their V6's sound good. Where as my 66 stang looks almost completely stock (with the exception of the obvious headlight modification), the fact that it is part of the generation that started it all, and I have haven't done anything really silly to it, like a body kit, or underglow lights. The only light I want to add to my car is the dealer optional light that fit inside the corral on the grille. What do you think, just a bunch of jealous kids?
yes sir i have, just the other day infact. My buddy let his friend barrow his car to go to the store so i decided to go up to the store to, to see if i can catch his car. Well I was walking out of the store, he was driving like a mad man so i walked up to him and asked what's he have done to it. he said it's a cobra, when i know better. It just has cobra bumpers and what not, anyways i say this is not your car and it's not a cobra well he said yea it is a cobra then almost ran over my foot burning out down the line

I have a 95 GT and a 03 Cobra (2.61 pulley, intake, exhaust, tune). I drive my 95 most of the time, and rarely pull out the Termi. Some kid, had to be 17 kept screwing with me and laughing at my 95 (He was in an 03 or 04). It's a bolt on 95. . . what do you expect? I RARELY street race, but this guy had to go. We were about three blocks from my house, so I told him I wanted a re-match and would be back in 10 mins. Pulled the beast out of the garage, warmed her up, came to the McDonalds where he was waiting and guess what? He didn't want any of me anymore HAHAHAHA. I just thought I'd share a funny time with fellow mustang owners that are pricks

Dont say things you can't take back! Haha. I love my Foxbody. I love pulling up at a light and some mustang pulling up and admiring my car as I admire thiers. Then have a friendly run. However it turns out I always nod or give a thumbs up.
Oh and the other day I pulled up to a old Mustang II.. God I love the classics, but thats a face only a mother can love.
