Default srt8 grand cherokee VS my mustang

so my step dad has an srt8 cherokee which is pretty quick and expensive. and i drive a mustang obviously ha. i get a lot of crap around the house for it too. usually we will be talking about cars and he will take a stab at me for the stang and i just say nothing cause i know i can take him. but tonight we finally had a show down. we were coming home from dinner and ended up on the highway next to eachother doing about 45. he was about a half car in front of me when he floored it i caught up to him quick and started to pass him. but as soon as he realized i was going to beat him he let off the gas and braked. this happened a few more times each time i pulled on him hard. i really wanted to get him from a dig though but it just didnt work out. the best part was i beat him home only to find out that he turned around and stalled at a 7 11 (probably to avoid the conversation in the driveway) and when he did get home. not a word was said about it. haha. felt great. thought id share it with you all

Good kill even if he did try to avoid it. What gains did you see when you got the typhoon manifold, was it worth it?

i did actually notice a pretty big difference. i heard A LOT of bad reviews and the typhoon does need a little attention before install but it was for sure worth it. im glad i did it. the only complaint i have is that the directions are not correct in some aspect. the torquing specs are off i cant remember what they really are. it also looks bad ass under the hood its slightly taller then the stock manifold. it did help me catch the srt8 also ... again feeling pretty good tonight ha

Next step is to convince him to go out to the track.

There's one around here that has a supercharger, not sure what kind, but that things flies, I don't know if I could catch it and I'm a long way from stock. I'll let you know if I ever find out.

From what I know about the SRT8 jeeps is that they are monsters through 1st and second gear but after that they are dogs. The AWD helps them get out of the hole and all the tourque and hp is on the low end. Catch him on the highwayfrom a 65 roll and really spank him. He might surprise you at the track though.

I'd rather go to the track, but if I see him I'll find out. He's a nice guy, but not the best driver, and like me, he doesn't like street racing, just too many things can go wrong, especially down here, its like god's waiting room, a lot of people who pay attention to anything but the road, and we have more cops in this county than most states can justify.

the srt jeeps are not only quick they have a really nice interior and a lot of features and handles like a beast surprisingly. the one thing i dont like about it is that there are a lot of components blocking the view. the rear view mirror is gigantic and the a pillar is really bulky. im about 6'2 so maybe that comes into play some? i dont think so though since it is a suv. it also gets terrible milage but if you are looking for a cool suv it takes the cake in my opinion. also the center exhaust is really cool too. we had a hitch custom made for it that is completely invisible. 1 and 2nd gear are bad ass but i really think i could take him off the line. ive driven that car a lot and knowing how it performs i think he would be in for a surprise from the line too
