This all took place last friday after work... A guy i work with just baught a 2007 Charger R/T. Now as soon as he gets in the office it starts with "David you car looks great but can it run with my hemi". I bust out in a laugh and say lets find out. So after work we take a drive out to a place i know and ask him to pick his poison from a dig or a roll. He wanted to do both so we do. The dig was first 0-40 1 car 40-80 another car 80-110 another car. I just blasted that hemi. Now from a 20 roll...... 20-130 4 cars.....why are these Hemi's so weak...is the weight the only thing holding them back..and since the hemi is weak does that mean the challenger is as well and maybe even th camaro...i mean they all have the same prob TOOOOO HEAVY!
I test drove a 2009 challenger R/T 6 speed today and all i can say is that it is a very nice looking boat. My 05 GT is quiet a bit quicker than it was. and im probably going to get slammed for this but i plan on buying one or the camaro when it comes out. i will decided when the camaro is on the streets. BUT DONT WORY im not going to get rid of the stang i plan on having both.
sweet kill.Yea it's the weight, but they are also auto's and have less power to the wheels since they are auto's.The new challenger has 30 more hp then the charger,or 20 more than the r/t I think and has the 6 speed as an option.Camaros have the 420 ls3 and also will come with 6 speeds and will still weigh less than 2 tons.I expect the Camaros to run high 12's stock. But hey I might be wrong

Ahh don’t you love it when people talk **** and then get shut down? Lol. I raced 2 challenger r/t’s. 1 from a dig and 1 from a roll. I won both times, but I have yet to have a straight race with an srt.
I was crunching some numbers the other day and for me its the power to weight ratio that really tells you how things will run. I base this on the fact that all muscle cars are rear wheel drive and can be made to put the power to the ground in a similar manor. With that being said, a new Camaros with a big block is making 420ish HP ( I am guessing fly, because the numbers change from auto to stick would be from a tune and the crank has higher number to be more impressive) so with the weight their ratio is at around 10.5 lbs/hp. My Mach 1 is only around 11 lbs/hp. So all I need to do is either drop 2-300lbs or increase my hp by 100 and I could technically beat him. So your new car costing 40k + is slower than my 5 year old car with a SC. Lets remember that in 03 and 04 Ford made this thing called a Cobra. Then people wonder why GM/Mopar are in a rut.

i agree with you as far as what the car should run like...but from what ive seen these cars just dont put that kind of power to the ground i mean 420 to the crank they should be in the 370's to the ground right??
Yeah but if they weigh 4200 pounds than it doesn't matter if they are putting that much to the ground because it's being soaked up by all the weight that it has to move around.

I will be curious to know if my V6 with an eaton (not yet but soon) will be able to take a new camaro. I should be putting down at least or around 280-300rwhp after the conversion.
